Low Voltage Assistant Project Manager

Job Description

Conti LLC (Conti) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Low Voltage Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of physical security, audiovisual (AV), access control, surveillance, and low-voltage infrastructure projects. This individual will work closely with Project Managers, Field Superintendents, technicians, vendors, and clients to assist in planning, coordinating, tracking, and executing projects from initiation through closeout.

The ideal candidate has experience in the low-voltage, security, AV, or electrical industry and is looking to advance into a project management leadership role. This position requires strong organizational skills, technical aptitude, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Travel may be required based on project location and customer needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Project Coordination & Administration

  • Assist Project Managers in defining project scope, objectives, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Support project planning activities, including scheduling, resource coordination, and milestone tracking.
  • Help prepare project documentation, reports, meeting minutes, and action item logs.
  • Track project progress and communicate updates to project stakeholders.
  • Assist with project closeout activities, including test reports, as-built documentation, training records, and customer acceptance forms.
  • Monitor project budgets and help track labor, materials, subcontractor costs, and change orders.

Procurement & Material Management

  • Assist with material procurement, vendor coordination, and purchase order creation.
  • Track equipment deliveries and ensure materials arrive according to project schedules.
  • Coordinate with manufacturers, distributors, and subcontractors regarding lead times and project requirements.
  • Maintain inventory and project material records.

Field Operations Support

  • Work closely with field supervisors and technicians to support successful installations.
  • Participate in site walks, project meetings, and customer coordination meetings.
  • Assist in identifying project risks, scheduling conflicts, and potential obstacles.
  • Support installation, troubleshooting, system startup, and commissioning activities when required.
  • Verify work is being completed in accordance with project specifications, company standards, and customer expectations.

Customer & Team Communication

  • Maintain professional communication with clients, vendors, contractors, and project team members.
  • Assist with responding to customer requests and documenting project-related communications.
  • Help ensure project deliverables, timelines, and customer expectations are clearly communicated.
  • Promote a collaborative and team-oriented work environment.

Technical Support

  • Support installations, upgrades, repairs, service work, and customer change orders involving:• Video Surveillance Systems (CCTV)
  • Access Control Systems
  • Intrusion Detection Systems
  • Intercom and Communication Systems
  • Audio Visual Systems
  • Structured Cabling Infrastructure
  • Network-Connected Security Devices

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in the low-voltage, security, AV, telecommunications, or electrical industries.
  • Experience supporting installation or service projects involving security or low-voltage systems.
  • Understanding of project coordination, scheduling, and documentation practices.
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts, including IP addressing and device connectivity.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass background screening requirements.
  • Ability to obtain customer-required site access and/or U.S. Government Security Clearance when applicable.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10-20% as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics, Business Management, or a related field.
  • OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour Certification.
  • Experience supporting physical security or AV projects.
  • Familiarity with project management software and scheduling tools.
  • Exposure to estimating, purchasing, project budgeting, or change order management.
  • Military technical experience will be considered equivalent industry experience.
