Job Description

Key skills required:

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, concepts, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and ability to interpret and apply accounting guidance in day-to-day operations.
  • Ability to analyze accounting transactions, identify issues, and determine appropriate accounting treatment.
  • Experience in General Accounting / Record-to-Report (R2R) processes with a solid understanding of month-end close activities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Exposure to process simplification, automation, and digital tools (e.g., Power Query, Power BI, Macros, Power Automate, AI-enabled solutions, or similar technologies), along with the ability to identify process improvement opportunities and drive efficiency initiatives, would be an added advantage
  • Typically requires 4-6 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a global environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams across different geographies.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform general accounting activities, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Analyze balance sheet and P&L accounts, investigate variances, and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve open items.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end close deliverables while maintaining compliance with internal controls and reporting requirements.
  • Apply accounting knowledge and judgment to support accounting and financial reporting activities.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and support initiatives focused on simplification, standardization, automation, and operational efficiency.
  • Leverage automation and digital tools to streamline accounting processes, improve reporting, and enhance overall productivity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification or progress toward certification (CA, CMA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Exposure to process simplification, automation, and digital tools (e.g., Power Query, Power BI, Macros, Power Automate, AI-enabled solutions, or similar technologies) preferred.
