Overview:

The person in this role demonstrates a high level of professionalism, focused on the security, performance, and long-term health of the Salesforce platform. Responsibilities include enforcing the platform's technical direction and governance frameworks, owning the platform security model, monitoring platform performance and scalability limits, and driving the identification and retirement of technical debt across a multi-Org global landscape.

This individual will be assigned as the lead Architect on strategic and high-complexity Salesforce projects, embedding within delivery teams to validate the solution architecture end-to-end and holding formal authority to approve or reject the architectural approach before development begins. They will also act as the design escalation authority for the wider technical team. This individual will also support the evaluation of emerging technologies, such as AI and automation, to ensure the Salesforce platform remains scalable, sustainable, and consistently aligned with Bunge's evolving business priorities as its adoption expands globally.

This role requires leveraging deep technical expertise to govern solutions built by internal delivery teams and external partners, building strong partnerships across Enterprise Architecture and Security, and driving results through the enforcement of high technical standards.

Essential Functions: Main Accountabilities

  • Act as the responsible party for platform security governance. Apply and enforce the security guardrails and core security model defined with the Platform Owner, conduct proactive Salesforce Health Checks, assess Critical Security Release Updates across all Orgs, and recommend remediation actions for approval.
  • Enforce technical standards, best practices, and governance frameworks for Salesforce development and implementation, and recommend improvements to those standards as the platform matures.
  • Proactively monitor system performance and org health, tracking API consumption, data/file storage, and governor limits using native Salesforce monitoring tooling and Event Monitoring. Manage large data volume strategies to ensure the platform remains performant at scale.
  • Support the Platform Owner in evaluating emerging technologies, including AI and automation, and assess their security, performance, and architectural impact prior to adoption.
  • Act as the design escalation authority for Technical Analysts. Review complex Solution Design Documents (SDDs) from internal delivery teams and external partners involving new integrations, high-risk data model changes, security model modifications, or heavy custom code — prior to development commencing, escalating designs with platform-wide or cross-Org impact to the Platform Owner.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Security Architecture, Integration CoE, and Functional teams to ensure proposed solutions comply with enterprise security, integration, and data standards.
  • Serve as the assigned Architect on strategic and high-complexity projects, embedding within the delivery team to validate the solution architecture end-to-end. Ensure the design is scalable, secure, reusable, and aligned to the global template from initiation through to deployment, reviewing and endorsing the architectural approach at each project gate and escalating deviations for resolution.
  • Anticipate and address potential architectural challenges, proactively recommending innovative solutions and improvements to platform capabilities and governance.
  • Drive the technical debt and data hygiene agenda. Identify aging customizations, redundant metadata, unused fields and objects, and poorly performing code. Package findings for Functional team business validation and route approved remediation to delivery teams for execution.
  • Conduct weekly reviews using Salesforce Shield Event Monitoring to detect API anomalies, unauthorized mass data exports, and integration failures, escalating security incidents as required.
  • Execute the quarterly static code analysis (PMD) trend review to assess code quality across internal and external delivery teams and recommend corrective action.

Knowledge and Technical Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 11-14 years of progressively increasing responsible experience in developing Salesforce solutions, including at 3-5 years of experience in Salesforce technical architecture, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Deep expertise in Salesforce architecture, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and other Salesforce products.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce development technologies (Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow, SOQL, SOSL) sufficient to conduct authoritative code and design reviews.
  • Strong understanding of integration patterns and technologies (REST, SOAP, middleware).
  • Knowledge of cloud computing principles and best practices.
  • Experience with Salesforce DevOps practices and tooling, specifically Copado, Git branching strategies, and static code analysis (PMD).
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce Shield (Event Monitoring, Platform Encryption, Field Audit Trail).
  • Demonstrated experience governing multi-Org enterprise environments with vendor-led or hybrid delivery models.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies such as AI/ML and automation, and their application within the Salesforce ecosystem.
  • Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) preferred.
