In Product Development, we bring engineering ideas to life. The ADAS Software and Feature Development Team designs and develops software, providing magical experiences with features like Blue Cruise, Pro Trailer Hitch Assist, Pro Trailer Backup Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Active Park Assist, and 360 Camera Systems. We are seeking a diligent, detail-driven professional to provide vital expertise in support of our Driver Assist Technologies Embedded Software team.
Responsibilities
What you'll do...
- Create high level documentation and develop software requirements for an embedded platform
- Work on Over-the-Air software updates architecture to enable continuous improvement of ADAS features for vehicles in the field
- Leverage modular component-based design, standard C libraries, embedded design patterns, and Classic AUTOSAR architectural features to create robust, efficient, and reliable software
- Design, develop, and integrate the embedded C/C++ software platform for Embedded Software in Ford's next-generation ADAS systems
- Drive issues to closure by debugging complex, cross-functional defects
- Apply Functional Safety principles as it applies to Driver Assist Software and Platform Software
- Demonstrate commitment to quality by applying best practices to coding standards, static analysis, code coverage, code reviews
- Support real-world testing of ADAS features, working closely with partner teams such as systems testing and vehicle testing
- Flash, validate and debug your code in bench and HIL setups, and in pre-production and prototype vehicles
- Highlight your technical leadership amongst a team of highly energized and collaborative peers in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
Qualifications
You'll have...
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or a combination of education and equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in software architecture using C++ and/or C
- 5+ years of experience designing and testing systems for high performance, high reliability computing applications
- Familiarity with Classic AUTOSAR stack
- Strong written and verbal communication

- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field of study
- 8+ years of ADAS/Autonomy software architecture experience with proven success in a fast-paced, cross-functional engineering team environment
- Strong understanding of modern Middleware designs and best practices
- Expertise with boot chain constructs
- Expertise with established software design patterns, efficient data structures and multi-threaded system design
- Understanding of various communication styles and protocols such as CAN-FD, TCP/IP, UDP, SPI, SOME/IP, and SOA
- Experience with POSIX
- Familiarity with ISO 26262, security, and safety in embedded systems
- Experience working within an Agile Software Development Methodology

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $99,600-$166,600.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
