Electrical Equipment Project Manager
Location: Marietta, OH Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee custom power distribution equipment projects from initial requirements through delivery. This role coordinates engineering, purchasing, production, testing, logistics, and customer communication to keep projects on schedule and ensure successful completion.

What You’ll Do
- Own project execution from requirements capture through engineering, procurement, manufacturing, testing, shipment, and closeout.
- Act as the main customer contact and provide regular project updates.
- Bring together sales, application engineering, design engineering, supply chain, production, quality, and logistics teams.
- Build and maintain project schedules, milestones, and delivery commitments.
- Establish realistic timelines based on material availability and production capacity.
- Lead project kickoff meetings and track action items through completion.
- Manage customer changes, engineering revisions, and resulting schedule impacts.
- Coordinate Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), customer documentation packages, and shipment readiness.
- Monitor project risks and lead efforts to resolve issues before they affect delivery.
- Maintain project reporting, schedule information, and on-time delivery metrics.
- Manage multiple complex projects while maintaining clear priorities and communication.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of project management experience in manufacturing, electrical equipment, or electromechanical environments.
- Experience managing engineered-to-order (ETO) or custom manufacturing projects.
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, order management, and long-lead material coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, production, and quality teams.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and project scheduling tools such as MS Project or Smartsheet.
- Excellent communication, organization, and customer-management skills.
Preferred
- Experience with switchgear, PDCs, RPPs, STS, or UPS systems.
- PMP certification or active pursuit of certification.
- Familiarity with UL, NEC, ANSI, or related electrical standards.
- Experience coordinating FATs and customer witness testing.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience.
