How you'll power our business as a Project Manager

At DTGen, we're dedicated to delivering reliable, innovative and critical power solutions that support businesses, infrastructure and essential services across the UK. As a Project Manager, you'll be responsible for the successful delivery of complex power generation and modular energy projects from contract award through to design, manufacture, installation, commissioning and final handover. You'll lead multidisciplinary teams, manage key customer relationships and oversee the delivery of mission-critical power solutions across sectors including data centres, utilities, healthcare, industrial facilities, infrastructure, defence and energy.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading the delivery of power generation and modular infrastructure projects from concept through to commissioning and final acceptance.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and in line with contractual requirements.
  • Managing project programmes using Microsoft Project and associated scheduling tools.
  • Coordinating engineering, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, installation and commissioning activities.
  • Managing project risks and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Monitoring project performance against key milestones, budgets and financial targets.
  • Producing and presenting project reports, technical submissions and stakeholder updates.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors and supply chain partners.
  • Providing technical oversight across diesel and gas-powered generation systems, HV and LV switchgear projects and modular energy solutions.
  • Supporting the integration of generation systems with switchgear, protection systems, synchronisation systems, fuel systems, cooling systems and associated infrastructure.
  • Managing commissioning strategies, testing programmes and final project acceptance activities.
  • Promoting best practice in health, safety, quality and environmental management across all projects.
  • Leading multidisciplinary project teams while supporting the development and mentoring of engineers and junior project managers.
  • Driving continuous improvement across project delivery functions.

What we'll need from you

Essential

  • Minimum 10 years' experience within power generation, critical power, switchgear or energy infrastructure sectors.
  • Proven experience managing diesel and gas-powered generation projects.
  • Extensive experience delivering HV and LV switchgear packages.
  • Strong client-facing project management experience.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Proven commissioning and testing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of power generation equipment and associated electrical infrastructure.
  • Experience delivering modular construction or packaged energy solutions.
  • HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or Power Engineering.
  • SMSTS or equivalent Site Management qualification.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

  • Experience delivering major infrastructure, utility or nuclear-related projects.
  • Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
  • Knowledge of G99 grid connection requirements.
  • Familiarity with MCPD compliance.
  • Experience with data centre standby generation systems.
  • Experience managing Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
  • Degree in an Electrical or Engineering discipline.
  • Prince2 Practitioner, APMP or equivalent project management qualification.
  • Membership of a recognised engineering institution.
