About the role
We are looking for a Senior Technical Architect with a strong focus on the Java ecosystem, to join technology projects within the context of European institutions. The selected candidate will be responsible for defining and guiding technical architecture decisions, ensuring scalability, quality, and best practices across cloud and microservices environments.
Responsibilities
- Design and define technical architectures based on Java for enterprise systems.
- Lead architecture decisions related to cloud platforms, microservices, and containerization.
- Ensure code quality through unit testing and integration testing strategies.
- Collaborate with development teams, business stakeholders, and technical stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable solutions.
- Contribute to defining technical standards and architecture best practices.
Requirements
- Solid experience as a Technical Architect, with a strong focus on the Java ecosystem.
- Knowledge of Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar).
- Experience with microservices and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with unit testing and integration testing.
- Seniority: Senior (extensive background in software architecture is valued).
Nice to have
- Knowledge of eAudit: in the context of the European Commission (EC), eAudit (or the electronic audit module) refers to the automated, digital auditing workflows integrated into the EU's institutional systems.
- Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
- Experience with public grants management processes.
- Prior involvement in European open source projects.
- Experience with business workflow orchestration.
