Summary 

This role supports the organization's strategic decision-making process by providing timely, accurate data analysis and visualizations to the leadership team. The analyst leads end-to-end ETL processes and builds dashboards using tools such as Microsoft Power BI, SQL, and BigQuery, curating a reporting suite that evolves with the changing needs of the business. The role combines technical expertise in data management and visualization with strong business acumen and communication skills to translate complex insights for stakeholders at every level. As a liaison between technical data operations and executive decision-making, the Senior Business Intelligence Analyst plays a pivotal part in driving the organization's strategic initiatives and growth. 

Job responsibilities 

  • Lead end to end ETL processes, including data extraction, transformation, and loading, to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of data used for analysis. 
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards in Microsoft Power BI that give the leadership team clear, data driven visualizations to support decision-making. 
  • Use SQL and BigQuery to run complex data queries and analyses, identifying trends, patterns, and opportunities for operational and business improvements. 
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to understand requirements, share insights, and support data driven decision-making and continuous improvement. 
  • Communicate technical concepts and analytical findings clearly, adjusting the message for different audiences, including executives and team members. 
  • Coach and mentor team members on best practices in data analysis, ETL processes, and dashboard development to build a strong, collaborative team. 

 

Required qualifications 

Essential 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. 
  • Four or more years of relevant experience in a business intelligence or data analytics role. 
  • Working proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and ETL processes. 
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. 
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn data into a business story. 

Desirable (recruiter may evaluate whether to retain) 

  • Additional certifications in business intelligence tools and systems. 
  • Direct experience with BigQuery or a comparable cloud data warehouse. 
  • Prior experience training or mentoring other analysts. 
  • Experience leading or overseeing business intelligence projects.

The range below represents Wiley's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base pay for this role at the time of posting roles in the United Kingdom, Canada, USA, Austria, Czechia, Denmark, France, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Romania, or Spain. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall within the range, however the ultimate salary offered for this role may be higher or lower and will be set based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.
