Summary of Position: The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a construction project from initiation to completion. Key duties include helping to define project goals, managing resources, mitigating risks, facilitating communication among stakeholders and leading teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and according to scope.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and Scheduling – Developing detailed project plans, programming with the Operations teams, creating timelines and coordinating with outside consultants and vendors
- Budget Management – Controlling project costs, preparing cost estimates and tracking expenses throughout the project timeline
- Resource Allocation – Executing the RFP and bid process to engage consultants, contractors and outside vendors. Coordination with operations for the procurement of materials and equipment required for the project
- Team Leadership and Coordination – Lead project teams, assigning tasks and facilitating collaboration
- Risk Management and Problem Solving – Identifying potential risks, overcoming challenges and solving issues that arise
- Stakeholder Communication – Engage corporate leadership and partner agencies (Federal, State and Local) in the approval process, managing expectations and reporting on progress
- Quality Control and Closing – Ensuring final deliverables meet quality standards and completing project closure documentation including final project cost reconciliation
- Other duties as requested
Key Requirements:
- Proven exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Professional demeanor able to communicate effectively with various partner agencies (NPS, USFS, State Parks, etc.)
- Ability to read construction plans including technical drawings and specifications from designers and engineers (architectural, landscape, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil)
- Able to work full time in a corporate office setting and travel as required
- Adept with MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Work with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) on obtaining permits and approvals
- Effective coordination with various departments within the organization (Finance, Lodging, Retail, Food & Beverage, Design)
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Education and/or Experience:
Education: Bachelors of Science in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field, minimum. Experience: 3-5+ years’ experience in Project Management, including on-site experience with new ground-up construction including civil work and utilities. Working with Federal Agencies a plus.
