Full description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial and industrial electrical construction projects throughout the Houston area. This role is responsible for managing projects from preconstruction through closeout while ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate has experience working for a commercial electrical contractor, strong knowledge of electrical construction operations, and the ability to successfully manage project teams, financial performance, procurement, and client relationships. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and institutional projects.

Responsibilities• Manage commercial and industrial electrical construction projects from preconstruction through final completion.

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, manpower forecasts, and execution strategies.
  • Monitor project financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, labor productivity, cost control, billing, and profitability.
  • Coordinate Superintendents, Foremen, electricians, subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and project stakeholders throughout all phases of construction.
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documents to ensure successful project execution.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, procurement activities, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate material and equipment procurement to maintain project schedules.
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates to clients, general contractors, and company leadership.
  • Identify project risks and implement solutions to minimize schedule delays and budget impacts.
  • Conduct jobsite visits to monitor quality, safety, productivity, and schedule performance.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, company standards, and applicable safety regulations.
  • Oversee project turnover, punch-list completion, commissioning support, and final closeout.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and project partners.
  • 5+ years of project management experience with a commercial electrical contractor.
  • Proven experience managing commercial and industrial electrical construction projects from startup through closeout.
  • Experience with healthcare, education, industrial, institutional, municipal, or large commercial electrical projects is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, construction methods, scheduling, procurement, and field operations.
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasting, labor productivity, subcontractors, billing, and change orders.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and construction documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Viewpoint, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while meeting critical deadlines.
  • Residential-only electrical project management experience is not sufficient for this role.
