Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial and multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, cost forecasts, and execution strategies.
  • Monitor project financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, billing, change orders, and overall profitability.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and project documentation to ensure successful execution.
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, contract administration, negotiations, and project coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Partner with Superintendents and field leadership to maintain project schedules, resolve construction challenges, and support field operations.
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to clients, stakeholders, and executive leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, quality standards, safety regulations, and applicable building codes.
  • Oversee project closeout activities, including punch lists, turnover documentation, and final client deliverables.
  • Mentor and develop Project Managers, Project Engineers, and support staff while fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while proactively identifying, mitigating, and resolving project risks.
  • 7+ years of project management experience with a commercial general contractor or construction management firm.
  • Proven experience managing commercial, multifamily, healthcare, education, industrial, institutional, or mixed-use construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, scheduling, procurement, contract administration, and project financial management.
  • Demonstrated success managing budgets, forecasting, subcontractors, change orders, cost control, and overall project profitability.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documentation.
  • Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, organizational, and client relationship management skills.
  • Experience leading project teams while coordinating field operations, subcontractors, consultants, and design professionals.
  • Local Memphis-area candidates are strongly preferred.
  • Residential homebuilding experience alone is not sufficient for this role.
  • Ability to successfully complete professional reference checks and a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid time off and company holidays.
  • Opportunity to lead high-profile commercial and multifamily construction projects.
  • Long-term career growth with a respected commercial general contractor.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented work environment.
