Job Description

Position Summary 

The Solution / Cloud Architect will design, assess, model, and guide target architectures for FCC modernization initiatives, cloud migration, application modernization, service integration, and cloud platform adoption. This role translates EA strategy into executable cloud and solution designs aligned to the FCC cloud architecture, FEAF, FedRAMP-authorized cloud services, federal security standards, and the FCC enterprise technology ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop high-level and detailed solution architectures aligned to FCC cloud architecture, enterprise architecture standards, FEAF, FCC policies, and federal guidance. 
  • Review FCC cloud migration strategy and modernization plans, perform cloud readiness assessments, identify gaps and risks, and create transition plans for approved modernization initiatives. 
  • Model target cloud solutions and architectures using the FCC EA toolset and support publication of modernization progression, maturity, and compliance metrics. 
  • Support establishment and operation of a Cloud Center of Excellence governance structure for FCC IT and business stakeholders. 
  • Design and assess integrations across FCC enterprise platforms, including AWS, ServiceNow, MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, Okta, Box, Socrata, MicroStrategy, Zendesk, and Bizagi. 
  • Provide architecture guidance for scalability, security compliance, interoperability, reuse of architecture assets, open standards, migration readiness, operational transition, and risk reduction. 

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Experience architecting federal cloud and hybrid solutions using AWS, FedRAMP-authorized services, PaaS/SaaS platforms, APIs, integration platforms, and reusable architecture patterns. 
  • Experience with ServiceNow, MuleSoft, AWS, Okta, open data platforms, BI platforms, and enterprise data platforms preferred.
  • Direct Experience supporting FCC IT programs is REQUIRED.
  • Knowledge of FCC IT/ software environments is REQUIRED.
  • Experience developing target architectures, modernization roadmaps, cloud migration readiness assessments, transition plans, and architecture decision artifacts. 
  • Knowledge of NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP, zero trust principles, secure cloud architecture, cloud governance, and federal modernization requirements.
