Full description

Rate: 89 – 119 / hour (B2B)

We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist to engage with Flix on a freelance/service agreement basis (B2B contract). This is a contractor engagement for a professional who wants to work on impactful, hands-on data science challenges like estimating price elasticity from noisy booking data, testing new demand signals, and turning a sound method into a model that runs in production.

Scope of Services

Bring expertise in data science and quantitative analysis to work within Flix's Revenue Management System and build demand forecasting and price elasticity models.

About the Engagement

  • Further develop demand forecast and price elasticity models that drive automatic pricing across the Flix network
  • Research and test improved approaches to modelling price elasticity — from first hypothesis to validated, production-ready model
  • Act as a subject-matter expert partner for forecast and pricing models, advising product and business counterparts on problems, solution ideas, and feasibility
  • Actively contribute your ideas to technical brainstorming and modelling discussions as advisor
  • Effectively collaborate with others to implement solutions and ensure they are practical to operate reliably in production
  • Monitor and analyse the behaviour of pricing products and respond to support cases
  • Contribute to the technical health, reliability, and observability of the existing system

About You

  • Strong academic background in mathematics, physics, statistics, operations research, quantitative economics, or a related field, with a solid grounding in statistics and data analysis
  • Alternatively, proven hands-on expertise in price elasticity or demand modelling, for example from pricing or revenue management in transport, travel, hospitality or retail
  • Critical thinking and attention to detail: You question assumptions, check your results and derive your own solutions in a complex environment.
  • Programming experience — preferably Python; strong background in another language is acceptable
  • Good SQL skills
  • Basic knowledge of machine learning
  • Strong communication skills to explain your approach and results clearly to technical and non-technical colleagues
  • You implement your models yourself and care that they run reliably
  • You enjoy working with others, and you can build resilient working relationships with your stakeholders, even in a remote setup

Cooperation model

  • Cooperation based on a service agreement (B2B/freelance contract), not an employment contract.
  • You will operate as an independent contractor, responsible for delivering agreed services and submitting invoices
  • Location: open for contractors based in Poland
