GS1 Egypt continuously develops its data capabilities to support its products, services and business decisions. We’re looking for a Data Analyst to work with our data, product and business teams to turn data into reliable reporting, actionable insights and better decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Translate business questions into clear metrics, analysis and reporting requirements.
  • Write SQL queries to extract, combine and validate data from multiple systems.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Metabase or Apache Superset.
  • Analyze trends, investigate unusual results and communicate findings with clear recommendations.
  • Identify missing, duplicate or conflicting records, reconcile datasets and track data-quality improvements.
  • Define and document KPIs, calculation rules and reporting assumptions.
  • Automate recurring analysis and reporting to reduce manual work.
  • Work with data engineers to improve analytical datasets and reporting reliability.
  • Support internal and customer-facing analytics, including product performance and regulatory data requests.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of practical experience in data analysis or business intelligence.
  • Strong SQL skills, including joins, aggregations, CTEs and window functions.
  • Hands-on experience independently delivering dashboards in at least one BI platform, such as Power BI, Metabase, Superset or Tableau.
  • Strong Excel skills for analysis, reconciliation and validation.
  • Understanding of data modelling, relationships, metric definitions and analytical accuracy.
  • Experience cleaning and reconciling data, investigating discrepancies and validating results.
  • Ability to understand business needs, explain findings clearly and follow work through to delivery.

Nice to have

  • Python and pandas for analysis and automation.
  • Experience with customer, subscription, product or operational analytics.
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms, data governance or regulated product data.
