Full description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial electrical construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout. This role will be responsible for project scheduling, budgeting, procurement, field coordination, financial performance, and client relationships.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of project management experience with a self-performing commercial electrical contractor and a strong understanding of electrical construction, field operations, and project financials. Experience managing complex projects in healthcare, higher education, institutional, manufacturing, or similar commercial environments is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial electrical projects from preconstruction through completion and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, manpower plans, procurement plans, and cost forecasts.
  • Track project financial performance, including labor productivity, billing, change orders, forecasting, and profitability.
  • Coordinate with superintendents, foremen, electricians, subcontractors, suppliers, and general contractors.
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and other construction documents.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, procurement, commissioning, closeout, and project turnover.
  • Coordinate project handoffs with estimating and preconstruction teams.
  • Partner with BIM/VDC teams on constructability, coordination, and installation planning.
  • Lead project meetings and provide clear updates to owners, architects, engineers, general contractors, and company leadership.
  • Identify and resolve scheduling, budget, procurement, and field-related issues.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and project partners.
  • Ensure projects meet contractual, quality, safety, and company standards.
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience with a commercial electrical contractor.
  • Experience with a self-performing commercial electrical contractor is required.
  • Proven experience managing commercial electrical projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, installation methods, sequencing, and field operations.
  • Experience managing schedules, budgets, procurement, labor planning, forecasting, billing, and project profitability.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and construction documents.
  • Experience collaborating with estimating, preconstruction, and BIM/VDC teams.
  • Proficiency with construction project management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with healthcare, hospital, higher education, institutional, manufacturing, or other complex commercial projects is preferred.
