Full description

We are a fast-growing FinTech company looking for a talented and enthusiastic engineer to join our team. We are expanding, making this a perfect position if you would like to have a significant impact on our company’s growth and develop your role and career as the business evolves. You will join a team where your ideas will be welcomed and valued.

We are UK FCA-regulated providing deposit aggregation and cash management services. Salesforce sits at the heart of our operational estate, and we are looking for a Lead Salesforce Developer to take technical ownership of the platform and lead its ongoing development.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You will design and build on the Salesforce platform yourself, set the technical direction and standards for the Salesforce team, and own the integration between Salesforce and our core operational systems — an event-driven architecture built on Kafka, with APIs.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development and delivery of solutions on the Salesforce platform, with deep hands-on Apex development
  • Own the integration architecture between Salesforce and operational systems, using Platform Events, Change Data Capture and our event streaming backbone (Kafka)
  • Define and enforce engineering standards for the Salesforce team: code review, testing, CI/CD, deployment practices (source-driven development with SFDX/DevOps Center or equivalent), and release governance
  • Mentor and develop other Salesforce team members, raising the overall engineering standard of the team
  • Work with product, operations and engineering leadership to translate business requirements into well-designed, maintainable platform solutions
  • Ensure solutions meet our security, data protection and regulatory obligations (UK GDPR, FCA requirements), including appropriate access controls, audit trails and data classification
  • Manage Salesforce technical debt deliberately: governor limits, org health, unused metadata, and the config-vs-code trade-off
  • Contribute to platform lifecycle activities: release readiness for Salesforce seasonal releases, sandbox strategy, and environment management

Requirements

  • 6+ years of Salesforce development experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior capacity
  • Expert-level Apex: triggers (and trigger frameworks), asynchronous processing (Queueable, Batch, Platform Events), bulkification, and test strategy beyond coverage percentages
  • Strong experience integrating Salesforce with external operational systems using event-driven patterns — Platform Events, Change Data Capture, and consuming/publishing to external event streams (e.g. Kafka)
  • Solid understanding of Salesforce integration options and their trade-offs: REST/SOAP callouts, External Services, streaming API, middleware vs point-to-point
  • Experience with Lightning Web Components and modern Salesforce front-end development
  • Source-driven development: Git, SFDX, CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce
  • Experience designing for idempotency, ordering and failure handling in asynchronous integrations
  • Track record of mentoring developers and leading technical decision-making in a team

Benefits:

  • 25 days holiday (exc. Bank holidays)
  • 5% Pension contributions
  • Private medical insurance with Vitality
  • Health cash Plan offering contributions to dental, optical and much more
  • Enhanced Parental Leave
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
  • Monthly team lunches, quarterly company socials

Working Pattern

  • Hybrid working pattern in London office, 3 days in the office, 2 days remote.
