Our challenge

We are seeking an experienced SWIFT Engineer to support applications and services within the SWIFT Technology and Messaging Services team. This position is on a team working in a fast-paced environment with a wide range of business partners, vendors and technology teams. The selected candidate will perform the administrative and technical activities required to support SWIFT application, infrastructure, and services.

 

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $100k - $110k/year & benefits (see below).

 

 

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Work in Agile environment.
  • Analyses requirements, designs, and document technical solutions.
  • Leads and/or performs analysis efforts, development (scripts, automation,..)
  • Manages projects and work-related stories/issues, including deployment to production.
  • Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area.
  • Perform various application software installations, deployment, performance testing, and configuration changes.
  • Monitor system and application changes that have a direct or indirect impact upon SWIFT Services. Forecasts system demands and collaborates with the SWIFT Technical support team to recommend expansion and reconfiguration.
  • Create or update documentation related to the activity performed (design document, maintenance procedure, troubleshooting document, etc.).
  • Communicate changes/upgrades to all customers.
  • Follow incident, change and problem management policies in coordination with Product support teams.
  • Troubleshoots problems and takes appropriate corrective action and or interacts with other teams within SWIFT Technology Services, the development team, other Technology teams or external vendors in performing complex testing, support, and troubleshooting functions.
  • Acts as an escalation point for application support and troubleshooting, provides guidance and direction to Platform Support team in resolution of escalated issues and/or complex production, application, or system problems, including on-call duties in a team rotation, which may require non-standard hours occasionally.

 

 

Requirements:

  • Application development and implementation experience.
  • Experience with Agile Scrum team.
  • Experience with CI/CD, AI and automation.
  • Experience implementing and supporting SWIFT services such as SWIFTNet, FIN, Interact or Fileact.
  • Experience with application in a distributed environment (UNIX/MQ).
  • Knowledge of SWIFT software product (Alliance Access, Alliance Gateway, Alliance Messaging Hub) and standards (MT, MX) .
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology support: troubleshooting highly complex tiered environments.
  • Knowledge and understanding of networking and security concepts, including, networking protocols, interoperation with firewalls and load balancers.

 

 

Preferred, but not required:

  • Experience in Banking, Financial Services, or Payment’s domain.
  • Hands-on experience supporting highly available, mission-critical financial messaging platforms.
  • Knowledge of cloud-hosted infrastructure and hybrid environments.
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring and observability platforms.
  • SWIFT certifications or related industry certifications are highly desirable.
