What We Do
At PayMitto, we're using technology to make global money movement faster, safer, and more accessible. Our platform simplifies cross-border payments by navigating complex regulatory environments with elegant, secure solutions. We're on a mission to make remittances seamless for businesses and individuals around the world, and we're looking for bold thinkers to help us get there.
Under the hood, that means building systems for multi-corridor payment routing, partner integrations across different financial networks, and real-time compliance and fraud detection, with the kind of reliability requirements that come with moving people’s money.Who We Need
We're looking for a full-stack Engineering Manager to lead a product team that owns its work end to end, from the C# services and Postgres schemas behind the PayMitto Core API to the React and Next.js experiences our customers and their users touch every day. You will be a highly visible internal leader inspiring your team to deliver amazing products for users. The right leader will be committed to performance, results, and operational excellence. We are looking not only for a strategic, innovative thinker but someone who has proven they can execute, communicate, and be accountable.
This is a hands-on keyboard role with a 50% / 50% split. Approximately half your time will be spent writing and reviewing code across the stack; the other half on people, priorities, and process. We are also an AI-native engineering team. Agentic development is part of how we work, not a side experiment. We expect you to be fluent with coding agents and to help set the standard for how the team uses them well.
For those in the Atlanta-area this is a HYBRID role. Tuesdays and Thursdays will be in our office at the Battery. For those outside the Atlanta-area is a REMOTE position with quarterly travel to Atlanta required. Eligible states of residence: FL, GA, IL, TX
Still with us? Here are the details…What You'll Do
Hands-On Technical Leadership (50%)
- Jump into the code. Roughly half your time is spent building and reviewing across the stack: C#/.NET services, React and Next.js front ends including server-side routes, and Postgres.
- Offer technical guidance and experience to the team including architectural decisions, code reviews, and best practices.
- Own the end-to-end design of features that cross the API and the front end, rather than handing off at a boundary.
- Drive our agentic engineering practice: establish patterns for working with coding agents, define what good review looks like when an agent wrote the first draft, and raise the team’s leverage without lowering the quality bar.
People & Process Management (50%)
- Lead a team of 4–6 engineers building full-stack product capabilities.
- Conduct 1-on-1s, performance reviews, and career development planning.
- Work closely with teams across PayMitto to deliver projects on time and within scope, identifying risks and implementing strategies to mitigate them along the way.
- Identify and successfully implement improvements in our engineering processes, tools, and architecture to enable us to deliver on our key initiatives.
What We're Looking For
Required
- 7+ years in software engineering, including hands-on coding experience and architectural design.
- 2+ years managing distributed software engineering teams.
- Strong backend experience with C# and .NET, building and operating production APIs.
- Strong experience with React and Next.js, including TypeScript and server-side Node work such as API routes, BFF layers, and background jobs.
- Solid Postgres skills: schema design, query performance, and safe migrations against live data.
- Practical experience with agentic development workflows and AI coding tools, and a clear point of view on where they help and where they don't.
- A broad skill base covering business, technology, user experience, and leadership. You transition seamlessly between managerial activities and low-level technical details, dropping into code to help the team meet its objectives while keeping your skill set sharp.
- Proven ability to deliver complex projects spanning months of development.
- Experience coaching and mentoring individuals at various levels of experience, from leaders to individual contributors.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

- Experience building or maintaining SDKs and public-facing APIs.
- CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code exposure: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Terraform or Bicep.
- Experience building internal tooling or MCP integrations that make a team measurably faster.
What Success Looks Like
- First 30 days: Understand our architecture, product, team dynamics, and stakeholder needs; ship your first code changes; establish trust with your team and product partners.
- First 90 days: Own your team's roadmap and delivery cadence, establish team rituals and development plans, and land meaningful improvements to how the team ships.
- First year: Deliver on multi-quarter product commitments, measurably improve delivery predictability and code quality, grow the capability and engagement of your engineers, and make agentic workflows a durable part of how the team works.
