Senior Java Engineer

We are looking for a Java Engineer with experience in Spring Boot, APIs, microservices, card issuance, payment processing, transactions, settlement, reconciliation, SQL, Kafka, and event-driven systems.

• Build and maintain backend services and APIs for a card issuance platform.

• Work on card lifecycle, transaction, settlement, reconciliation, and control workflows.

• Integrate with card processors, BIN sponsors, schemes, and other partners.

• Contribute to card-management product and frontend workflows.

• Build reliable services with strong testing, auditability, and operational visibility.

• Collaborate with product and engineering leads to translate requirements into working software.

• Participate in code reviews, releases, troubleshooting, and continuous engineering improvements.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience.

• Direct experience building or operating card issuance systems. General fintech or payments experience alone is not sufficient.

• Strong backend engineering fundamentals and experience building APIs or microservices.

• Production Java and Spring Boot experience is strongly preferred.

• Working knowledge of card lifecycle concepts and the roles of processors, BIN sponsors, and schemes.

• Experience with relational databases and asynchronous messaging or event-driven systems.

• Ability to contribute to modern frontend applications using JavaScript or TypeScript.

• Clear communication and the ability to work independently in a remote, India-hours setup.
