Network & Carrier Roadmap Product Manager
Maersk E-commerce — Brief Summary
At Maersk, we are transforming the way global e-commerce brands move parcels across markets. Maersk E-commerce brings together logistics, technology, carrier networks, and customer experience to help brands deliver faster, smarter, and more reliably to consumers around the world.
As our e-commerce business continues to scale, we are building stronger product capabilities around carrier orchestration, network design, smart routing, trade lane development, and cost-to-serve optimization.
We are now looking for an experienced Network & Carrier Roadmap Product Manager to join our Global Product team in Porto, Portugal.
This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of product, operations, carriers, technology, and commercial growth — helping define the carrier and network capabilities required to scale Maersk E-commerce globally.
Role Description
The Network & Carrier Roadmap Product Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining the product roadmap for MEC’s carrier and network capabilities.
This role will focus on identifying which carrier capabilities, integrations, services, trade lanes, and network options are required to support customer growth, regional expansion, service quality, and profitability.
You will work closely with Global Product, Regional Product Leads, Operations, Procurement, Technology, Commercial, and Finance to assess new trade lanes, new services, and new carrier options. You will help determine whether they can be built, scaled, and operated profitably.
This role does not own day-to-day carrier performance management or operational carrier relationships. Instead, it owns the product logic, roadmap, capability framework, and cost-to-serve analysis that enable smarter carrier selection and stronger network orchestration.
What You'll Be Doing
- Build and maintain the Carrier Roadmap for Maersk E-commerce across regions.
- Define which carrier capabilities, integrations, services, and geographies are required to support growth.
- Own the carrier capability framework, including tracking, labels, returns, proof of delivery, EDD, APIs, claims, service levels, and operational readiness.
- Support the prioritization of carrier integrations based on customer demand, commercial value, operational feasibility, and strategic fit.
- Lead trade lane feasibility assessments for new lanes, new services, and new product opportunities.
- Build cost-to-serve and profitability studies for new trade lanes, carrier options, and network services.
- Partner with Regional Product Leads to validate market demand, customer requirements, and business opportunities.
- Partner with Operations and Procurement to understand carrier capabilities, constraints, cost structures, and service models.
- Partner with Technology to translate carrier and network needs into clear product and integration requirements.
- Support the development of service models such as domestic parcel, cross-border, returns, PUDO, bulky parcel, and differentiated service levels.
- Provide product input into network design decisions, including hubs, MOCs, sortation, linehaul, and carrier injection points.
- Create clear business cases and recommendation documents for leadership decisions.
- Track the maturity of carrier capabilities across markets and identify key gaps to close.
- Help ensure MEC scales through reusable carrier and network capabilities rather than one-off regional solutions.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone with strong product, analytical, and logistics experience who can connect customer needs, carrier capabilities, operational realities, and financial impact.
The ideal candidate is structured, commercially aware, comfortable with complexity, and able to turn ambiguous network or carrier problems into clear product requirements and investment recommendations.
This person should be able to work across multiple functions and regions, balancing growth ambition with operational feasibility and profitability.
Ideally, you bring:
- Experience in product management, logistics, e-commerce, parcel, transportation, carrier management, network design, or supply chain.
- Strong understanding of parcel networks, carrier services, routing logic, trade lanes, service levels, and cost-to-serve drivers.
- Ability to build and assess business cases, profitability models, and operational feasibility studies.
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data, costs, service performance, and customer demand.
- Experience working with Technology teams to define product requirements, integration needs, and roadmap priorities.
- Ability to translate business and operational complexity into simple, structured recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder management skills across Product, Operations, Procurement, Commercial, Finance, and Technology.
- Commercial mindset, with the ability to balance customer needs, service quality, cost, and profitability.
- Experience in global or multi-region environments is a strong advantage.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to prepare leadership-ready materials and decision papers.
- A proactive, structured, and ownership-driven mindset.
