Summary

R2i is looking for a Data Center Solutions Architect (traditional and ideally cloud-based) to join the pre-sales department. The incumbent will have to support the team in the analysis during client meetings and for the recommendation of solution architecture (server/storage/virtualization/backup/recovery) and cloud computing solutions.

More specifically, the incumbent must:

Sales

  • Collaborate with Account Managers to define the client's needs for architecture development;
  • Assist in the development of proposals, contracts, work reports, tenders and other documents for infrastructure projects and associated contributions;
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols and standards in support of all infrastructure procurement efforts;
  • Maintain good relationships with business partners.
  • Technology watch

Customers

  • Work and collaborate closely with customers to carry out needs assessment and make product presentations,
  • Answer customers' technical questions in pre-sales or post-sales mode
  • Have an understanding of future customer needs in order to make good recommendations on solutions and software;
  • Analyze, document, recommend and communicate investment plans in IT infrastructure and system architecture, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities;
  • Document the company's existing systems architecture and technology portfolio and offer recommendations for improvements and/or alternatives;
  • Recommend innovative solutions that can improve the reliability, security, productivity and efficiency of the IT infrastructure;
  • As required, maintain or perform certifications necessary for the discovery of new technologies or necessary for the accreditations of technology partners;
  • Technology watch

REQUIRED PROFILE

  • Have at least five years of experience in infrastructure pre-sales practices (servers, storage, networking, backup, recovery, etc.) and in architecture or equivalent experience;
  • Hold a university or college degree in the field of computer science. Any training combined with a number of years of relevant experience will be considered;
  • Ability to develop solutions to implement key business strategies;
  • Bilingual (French and English advanced level).

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE

  • Have excellent conceptual knowledge of pre-sales technology architecture such as servers, storage, hyperconverged and software solutions backup, replication, recovery and monitoring in order to properly advise customers;

ASSETS

  • Conceptual knowledge of public cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, etc. or cloud reality summary;
  • Pre-sales knowledge of Microsoft collaboration offers, Microsoft365 (licensing, onboarding, etc.)
  • Pre-sales knowledge of Linux (RedHat RHEL, OpenShift) and/or SUSE (SLES, Rancher, Manager, NeuVektor) solutions, containers, etc
