Job Title: Financial Analyst

Please note: this position is 100% in-office in Guelph, ON.

Job Summary

The Financial Analyst is responsible for conducting, documenting, and reviewing moderate to complex financial analysis projects. Expected to analyze accounting and financial records of the company to ensure accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards and procedures.

Responsibility

  • Support the monthly consolidated close process by performing tasks such as preparing and posting monthly journal entries, collecting, reviewing, and consolidating financial reports from individual Linamar entities.
  • Review and supervise the work of junior staff.
  • Perform and review validation checks to ensure that data being provided by individual entities is complete and accurate.
  • Support internal and external financial reporting through drafting and review of a variety of standard and ad-hoc reports.

Academic/Educational Requirements

  • A degree in accounting, business, commerce, or a related discipline is required.
  • CPA designation, or significant progress in the CPA certification process, is required.

Required Skills/Experience

  • Minimum of two to three years of related financial experience.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and GAAP reporting principles.
  • Strong communication skills with a willingness to collaborate with colleagues across departments and across the globe.
  • Leadership attitude with the ability to teach and supervise the work of junior staff members.
  • A strong attention to detail and the ability to perform and explain detailed analysis to leaders and decision-makers in the company.
  • Able to identify and implement opportunities for innovation and enhance process efficiency.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
  • Knowledge of OneStream and IFS systems is a significant asset.
