Manufacturing Business Analyst
Position Summary
The Manufacturing Business Analyst partners with site leadership to improve operational and financial performance through data analysis, forecasting, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role combines business analysis, manufacturing finance, and production analytics to deliver actionable insights that drive productivity, profitability, and operational excellence.
Working closely with Operations, Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Finance teams, the Manufacturing Business Analyst develops performance metrics, supports planning and forecasting activities, identifies improvement opportunities, and enables data-driven decision-making across the manufacturing site.
Key Responsibilities
Performance Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, scorecards, and KPI metrics.
- Prepare performance summaries and recommendations for leadership.
Financial Planning & Forecasting
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and business planning processes.
- Perform variance analysis and financial modeling to support decision-making.
- Monitor manufacturing costs, inventory, labor, and operational expenses.
Manufacturing & Operational Excellence
- Evaluate production performance, throughput, quality, and resource utilization.
- Conduct root cause analysis and support Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize processes.
Business Partnership & Project Support
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support operational and strategic initiatives.
- Assist with project planning, performance tracking, and implementation of business improvements.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and management.
Data Integrity & Compliance
- Ensure accuracy and reliability of operational and financial reporting.
- Maintain documentation, reporting processes, and audit-ready records.
- Support compliance with company policies, controls, and reporting requirements.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Data Analytics, or a related field required.
Experience
- 7+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, business analysis, production analytics, finance, supply chain, or a related analytical role.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and operational performance management.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, key performance indicators, and operational drivers.
Technical Skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and financial modeling.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or equivalent.
- Experience with forecasting, budgeting, KPI reporting, and performance analytics.
