Rockland Trust is seeking a Business Analyst to support banking operations through testing coordination, business analysis, process improvement initiatives, and ongoing operational support. This hybrid position is based in Plymouth, MA, requiring onsite attendance three (3) days per week and remote work up to two (2) days per week, subject to business needs.

The Business Analyst will be responsible for coordinating testing, creating and executing test scripts, data mapping, obtaining appropriate management approvals, supporting projects, and escalating issues as they arise across banking operations. This position is also responsible for the development, analysis, and reporting of complex business information to management. The successful candidate will balance project-based business analysis with daily operational support while identifying and implementing process improvements that enhance efficiency and mitigate risk.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Gather requirements and review, analyze, and create documentation of business unit needs including workflow, program functions, and steps required to implement business processes.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects supporting system enhancements, new implementations, process improvements, and business initiatives.
  • Develop test plans and perform system testing for production support changes, enhancements, defect fixes, and application upgrades
  • Provide daily support for core business applications and ancillary systems, serving as a first point of contact for questions, issues, and requests.
  • Respond to day-to-day business requests involving data analysis, ad hoc query requests, system issues and operational questions.
  • Perform data maintenance updates and corrections while ensuring data accuracy and appropriate controls.
  • Troubleshoot data and system issues and coordinate resolution with technical and operational teams.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through automation and/or lowering risk in current business processes. Work with internal teams and vendors to implement solutions.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and document application issues, partnering with technical teams and vendors as needed to resolve incidents.
  • Ensure compliance rules and regulations, and all Federal and State regulations are being met for all processes.
  • Provide post-implementation support for new initiatives, upgrades and projects.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Three or more years of experience in banking operations or financial services is preferred, including but not limited to testing and implementing applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve issues.
  • Experience working with core and ancillary banking systems preferred.
  • Experience working with data query tools and analyzing data.
  • Knowledge of commonly used financial industry/ banking concepts, practices and guidelines.
  • Excellent oral communication and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong PC skills including Excel.
