We are currently seeking a QA / SQA Lead to join our team in Bangalore, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).
Job Title: QA Lead / SQA Lead Project: SAP & JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (E1) Implementation
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced QA / SQA Lead to lead quality assurance, testing, validation, and test-management activities for a large-scale SAP implementation running alongside a JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (E1) implementation.
The ideal candidate will have strong SAP functional knowledge across Order-to-Cash (OTC), Distribution, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Finance, combined with hands-on expertise in test strategy, test planning, integration testing, UAT coordination, requirements traceability, validation, SQA processes, and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM).
The candidate should have a good understanding of Agile methodologies and practical experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments, including participation in Scrum ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
While SAP will be the primary ERP platform for this role, candidates should also have exposure to or an understanding of other ERP platforms such as JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (E1).
The SAP QA/SQA Lead will work closely with business stakeholders, SAP functional teams, IT Business Analysts, developers, project managers, Scrum teams, and cross-functional teams to understand requirements, participate in design workshops, define testing scope, develop and execute test cases, coordinate UAT, and ensure compliance with established SDLC, PMF, SQA, CSV/GxP, and validation processes.
The role requires excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills and the ability to lead testing activities across complex, cross-functional SAP business processes.
Key Responsibilities
SAP Functional Testing & Quality Assurance
- Lead end-to-end QA and testing activities for the SAP implementation.
- Provide functional testing expertise across SAP modules and business processes, including:
- SAP SD – Sales & Distribution / Order-to-Cash (OTC)
- SAP MM – Materials Management / Procurement
- SAP WM – Warehouse Management / Distribution
- SAP PP – Production Planning / Manufacturing
- SAP FICO – Finance & Controlling
- Understand business and functional requirements and perform Fit/Gap analysis from a testing perspective.
- Participate in design workshops and review Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS) to understand business processes, solution designs, integrations, and testing implications.
- Translate business and functional requirements into comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
- Validate end-to-end business processes spanning multiple SAP modules and integrated applications.
- Understand dependencies and integration touchpoints between SAP and other ERP platforms, including JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (E1).
Test Strategy & Planning
- Develop and maintain the overall Test Strategy, Test Plan, testing scope, schedule, entry/exit criteria, and testing governance framework.
- Determine testing requirements based on business processes, solution design, integrations, and project risks.
- Define appropriate testing cycles, including:
- Functional Testing
- System Testing
- Integration Testing
- Regression Testing
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Establish and maintain the test lab/environment required for planned testing activities.
- Coordinate test-data requirements and testing prerequisites across functional and technical teams.
- Identify testing dependencies, risks, constraints, and mitigation actions.
Test Script Development & Execution
- Work with business stakeholders, IT analysts, SAP functional teams, and Agile delivery teams to develop detailed test scenarios and scripts.
- Ensure test scripts provide appropriate coverage of functional requirements, business processes, interfaces, and integration points.
- Lead and participate in test execution during functional and integration test cycles.
- Track test execution progress and ensure testing milestones are achieved.
- Manage defects through identification, documentation, prioritization, assignment, retesting, and closure.
- Coordinate with functional and development teams to resolve defects and testing issues.
Requirements Traceability & Application Lifecycle Management
- Establish and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTM) to ensure complete test coverage.
- Map requirements to test scenarios, test cases, test-execution results, and defects.
- Demonstrate good knowledge and practical experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) processes and tools.
- Manage testing artifacts and test execution using Micro Focus ALM / Quality Center and Jira.
- Maintain appropriate testing evidence and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor QA metrics, defect trends, test coverage, execution status, and overall solution quality.
- Ensure appropriate traceability between requirements, testing, defects, validation evidence, and approvals.
Agile & Scrum Participation
- Work effectively within Agile/Scrum delivery models in addition to traditional Waterfall methodologies.
- Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies and project calls, including:
- Daily Stand-ups
- Sprint Planning
- Backlog Refinement/Grooming
- Sprint Reviews/Demos
- Sprint Retrospectives
- Defect Triage and QA Status Meetings
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Business Analysts, developers, SAP functional consultants, and other QA team members throughout the sprint lifecycle.
- Understand sprint goals, user stories, acceptance criteria, dependencies, and Definition of Done from a QA perspective.
- Align testing activities with sprint schedules and release plans.
- Proactively communicate testing risks, blockers, dependencies, and defects during Scrum ceremonies.
UAT Coordination
- Plan and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business stakeholders.
- Work with business teams to identify UAT participants and define testing responsibilities.
- Coordinate UAT test scripts, test data, environments, schedules, and execution.
- Conduct UAT kickoff, status, defect-review, and closure meetings.
- Track UAT issues and ensure timely resolution.
- Coordinate business acceptance and testing sign-off.
SQA, CSV & GxP Compliance
- Serve as the Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Lead and ensure adherence to established project and organizational quality processes.
- Follow applicable Computer System Validation (CSV) and GxP processes, particularly for regulated environments.
- Ensure testing and validation documentation complies with applicable quality and validation standards.
- Support preparation, review, approval, and maintenance of required QA/SQA and validation documentation.
- Ensure appropriate evidence, traceability, approvals, and documentation are maintained for audit and compliance purposes.
- Work within established PMF and SDLC governance processes.
ERP Integration & JD Edwards Exposure
- Work within an enterprise landscape involving SAP and other ERP platforms.
- Demonstrate an understanding of ERP concepts, business processes, integrations, interfaces, and data flows beyond SAP.
- Exposure to JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (E1) or similar ERP platforms is desirable.
- Understand testing considerations for business processes and integrations spanning SAP and other ERP systems.
- Coordinate with JD Edwards or other ERP teams where cross-platform testing is required.
Project Methodology & Governance
- Apply strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices throughout the project.
- Work effectively within both Waterfall and Agile/Scrum delivery models.
- Follow established Project Management Framework (PMF) processes and quality gates.
- Participate in project planning, design, testing, release, and implementation activities.
- Coordinate testing activities with other implementation workstreams, including the parallel JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (E1) implementation.
Meetings, Reporting & Stakeholder Management
- Lead regular QA/test status meetings, defect-review meetings, testing checkpoints, and appropriate Scrum/Agile discussions.
- Prepare and communicate test-execution dashboards, defect reports, risks, issues, and testing status.
- Provide clear report-outs to project leadership, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Escalate critical testing risks, dependencies, blockers, and quality concerns in a timely manner.
- Collaborate effectively with business, IT, SAP functional, development, integration, validation, Agile/Scrum, and project-management teams.
Required Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of strong experience as an SAP QA Lead, Test Lead, SQA Lead, or SAP Functional Test Lead on large SAP implementation programs.
- 5+ years of strong functional understanding of multiple SAP modules, particularly:
- SAP SD / OTC
- SAP MM / Procurement
- SAP WM / Distribution
- SAP PP / Manufacturing
- SAP FICO / Finance
- Strong understanding of end-to-end SAP business processes and cross-module integrations.
- Strong hands-on experience developing Test Strategies, Test Plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts.
- Experience leading functional, integration, regression, and UAT testing cycles.
- Strong experience with requirements mapping and Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) management.
- Good knowledge and experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM).
- Experience with Micro Focus ALM / Quality Center for test management, requirements traceability, defect management, and validation.
- Good understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum practices.
- Practical experience participating in Scrum ceremonies/calls, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Experience working collaboratively with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Business Analysts, developers, and QA teams in an Agile environment.
- Experience with Jira and Agile project-management/testing processes.
- Strong understanding of SDLC and PMF methodologies.
- Experience working across both Waterfall and Agile projects.
- Experience with SQA processes, governance, documentation, and quality controls.
- Experience with CSV/GxP processes in regulated environments.
- Strong knowledge of defect management, test reporting, metrics, and quality governance.
- Exposure to or understanding of other ERP platforms such as JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (E1).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation, coordination, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with geographically distributed and cross-functional business and IT teams.

- Hands-on experience with Tricentis Tosca test automation.
- Experience establishing or expanding SAP automated regression-testing capabilities.

- Experience working in Life Sciences, Healthcare, Medical Devices, Pharmaceutical, or other GxP-regulated environments.
