We are seeking a Cloud Engineer to join one of our Prime Contracts supporting the Government's Corporate Management Services (CMS) organization. In this role, you will help design, modernize, secure, and sustain the enterprise applications and platforms that keep the organization operating every day. Working alongside experts in software engineering, cloud computing, DevSecOps, systems engineering, user experience, and enterprise platforms, you'll help modernize legacy systems, automate business processes, integrate commercial technologies, and deliver innovative solutions that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the user experience.

  • Assess existing capabilities, identify opportunities to expand DevOps adoption, and develop effective approaches for transitioning applications and capabilities into cloud environments as needed.
  • Analyze existing capabilities to identify data migration, software modification, legal, security, and compliance requirements associated with cloud transformation efforts.
  • Collaborate closely with System Administrators to plan, prioritize, and coordinate day-to-day technical activities supporting cloud conversion and system operations.
  • Leverage experience with Ansible and other automation and configuration management tools to streamline system administration, deployment, and operational tasks.
  • Plan, test, and deploy system security patches, kernel updates, and software upgrades using established patch management and configuration management tools.
  • Engage in the design, development, and testing of software changes required to transition capabilities to the cloud, adhering to the approach and technical direction selected.
  • Develop, test, and coordinate deployment plans to implement application and infrastructure changes seamlessly within cloud environments.
  • Apply cloud engineering expertise to integrate modified capabilities into cloud environments while optimizing system performance, reliability, automation, and resource utilization.

Required Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • A bachelor’s degree in IT and three (3) years of experience in software development/engineering. Four (4) additional years of software development experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Two (2) years' experience with cloud technologies.
  • Experience managing and optimizing DevOps practices within a project or organization
  • In-depth understanding of DevOps principles, tools, and methodologies, with a focus on driving efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) processes for automation.
  • Experience developing and updating technical documentation.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications in DevOps and related technologies are highly desirable.
  • Experience the with the Atlassian Tool Suite including Confluence & Jira
  • Experience managing systems hosted in virtual environments such as AWS.

The estimated salary range for this position is between $150,000-$200,000 (annualized USD). This range reflects the typical pay for the role and is one part of the company's comprehensive compensation package. Actual salaries are influenced by several factors, such as location, the individual’s education, skills, experience, and competencies, as well as contract affordability and organizational needs.
