About the role
Join PwC UK’s Forensics Data & AI practice within Enterprise Risk & Forensics as a Rust Developer. You’ll design and deliver high-quality, scalable backend systems while working directly with clients to understand complex requirements and turn them into robust technical solutions.
You’ll architect and develop client/server applications, including proprietary solutions already in deployment, and contribute across a wider range of client assignments. This is an opportunity to combine hands-on engineering with consulting, technical ownership and meaningful client impact in a flexible working environment across office, home and client sites.
What your days will look like
You’ll take ownership of technical delivery while working closely with clients and colleagues to create dependable, scalable solutions.
- Add new features to core applications, enhance existing functionality and maintain the codebase.
- Lead client requirements sessions and technical workshops, translating business needs into clear technical blueprints.
- Own delivery from initial scope and architecture through development, testing and deployment.
- Apply Rust best practices internally, make informed ecosystem choices, and support migration from legacy systems.
This role is for you if
•
- You have at least 2 years of professional, production-level Rust experience.
- You understand lifetimes, ownership and asynchronous programming, with hands-on experience of async runtimes such as Tokio.
- You have built network-reliant systems using TCP/UDP, REST, gRPC or WebSockets.
- You have worked in external consulting or another client-facing environment.
- You can produce strong technical writing and manage stakeholders effectively.
- Experience with AWS or Azure, and integrating Rust with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL or SQLite, would be an advantage.
What you’ll receive from us:
No matter where you may be in your career or personal life, our benefits are designed to add value and support, recognising and rewarding you fairly for your contributions.
We offer a range of benefits including empowered flexibility and a working week split between office, home and client site; private medical cover and 24/7 access to a qualified virtual GP; six volunteering days a year and much more.
