Full description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. DevOps Engineer based in India.
Join a global Platform Engineering team responsible for building and evolving the shared Azure services that power multiple SaaS environments. You’ll combine hands-on cloud engineering with a strong internal consulting role, helping product and engineering teams adopt secure, scalable platform capabilities. The environment is Azure-first and PaaS-first, with infrastructure fully managed through Terraform and modern CI/CD practices. You’ll work across networking, identity, API management, messaging, security, automation, and observability. A key part of the role is partnering with MLOps teams to enable Azure AI Foundry, Databricks, and model-serving workloads. This is an opportunity to influence platform architecture, improve reliability, and continuously develop your expertise in a fast-moving cloud environment.

Accountabilities
- Design, build, maintain, and enhance shared Azure platform services used across multiple product families, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, secure, and easy for engineering teams to consume.
- Own infrastructure as code using Terraform, including reusable modules, remote state, provider management, plan and apply reviews, imports, drift remediation, and safe promotion of changes across environments.
- Serve as an internal platform consultant by onboarding engineering teams, reviewing solution designs, troubleshooting integrations, documenting self-service patterns, and helping teams make effective use of shared services.
- Build and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines supporting infrastructure, application deployments, Databricks assets, and repeatable multi-environment releases.
- Manage Azure networking and edge services, including Application Gateway, WAF, Traffic Manager, TLS, routing, listeners, backend pools, health probes, rewrite rules, and multi-region failover configurations.
- Manage identity and access through Entra ID, including application registrations, OAuth 2.0/OIDC flows, service principals, managed identities, API permissions, and Azure RBAC.
- Configure and maintain Azure AD B2C, including custom Identity Experience Framework policies, SSO XML configurations, and integrations with external identity providers.
- Operate Azure API Management, covering APIs, products, subscriptions, policies, named values, versioning, revisions, and automated deployment through Terraform and pipelines.
- Manage Azure Service Bus namespaces, queues, topics, subscriptions, filters, access policies, and permissions through infrastructure as code.
- Partner with MLOps teams to deploy and configure Azure AI Foundry projects, model deployments, endpoints, Databricks environments, Unity Catalog, clusters, workflows, notebooks, jobs, and DLT pipelines.
- Implement AI guardrails, content-safety controls, private networking, private endpoints, identity integrations, and auditable deployment processes that enable secure model and data operations.
- Automate security, compliance, cost, and resource-usage controls while monitoring deployment processes and continuously improving platform reliability and efficiency.
- Establish business-focused KPIs and reliability targets, using measurable outcomes to guide operational improvements and demonstrate the platform team's impact.
- Participate actively in Agile delivery, taking ownership of sprint commitments, keeping work and documentation current, and contributing to a fast-paced, high-standard engineering environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience, with proven experience supporting Azure infrastructure and CI/CD for SaaS products at scale.
- Deep hands-on experience with Azure App Service/Web Apps, Azure Functions, and Azure Container Apps, including deployment slots, scaling, VNet integration, and configuration management.
- Strong expertise in Azure networking and edge services, including Application Gateway, WAF, Traffic Manager, VNets, subnets, NSGs, route tables, hub-and-spoke architectures, Private Endpoints, and Private DNS.
- Extensive experience with Azure Service Bus, including namespaces, queues, topics, subscriptions, filters, rules, shared access policies, and permissions.
- Strong Azure API Management experience, including policy authoring, products, subscriptions, named values, versioning, revisions, and infrastructure-as-code deployments.
- Solid knowledge of Entra ID, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, service principals, managed identities, API permissions, token and claims configuration, and Azure RBAC.
- Hands-on experience with Azure AD B2C, custom policies, Identity Experience Framework XML, and SAML/OIDC federation with external identity providers.
- Strong Terraform expertise, including reusable modules, remote state, workspaces, provider/version management, plan and apply workflows, imports, drift remediation, and using Terraform as the primary mechanism for resource changes.
- Strong Azure DevOps experience with YAML pipelines, multi-stage deployments, environments, approvals, service connections, and secure variable and secret management.
- Strong scripting and automation capabilities using PowerShell and/or Bash, together with fluent use of Azure CLI and solid Git practices including branching, pull requests, and code reviews.
- Strong understanding of cloud security, least-privilege access, secrets management, network isolation, certificate lifecycle management, and compliance controls.
- Working knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases, strong analytical skills, and a proven ability to improve infrastructure reliability through measurable outcomes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical platform decisions clearly to engineers and stakeholders across disciplines.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Agile environment, manage competing priorities, assimilate information quickly, and deliver projects on schedule.
- Preferred experience includes Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Databricks administration, Unity Catalog, Databricks Asset Bundles, the Databricks Terraform provider, MLOps, AI guardrails, content safety, Azure Data Factory, Docker, monitoring and security platforms, and relevant Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-400, or AZ-500.
- Familiarity with C#, Java, Python, or JavaScript/React is advantageous for reading application code and troubleshooting deployment or configuration issues alongside product teams. Kubernetes experience is not required.
Benefits:
- Opportunity to work on a global Azure platform supporting multiple SaaS environments and product families.
- Hands-on exposure to modern Azure PaaS, serverless, infrastructure-as-code, DevOps, MLOps, AI, and data technologies.
- Significant technical ownership and influence over shared platform architecture, reliability, security, and engineering standards.
- Collaboration with product engineering, MLOps, data, and other technical teams across a global environment.
- Continuous opportunities to expand expertise across Azure AI Foundry, Databricks, automation, cloud security, and platform engineering.
- A collaborative, inclusive environment that values accountability, innovation, action, customer focus, and knowledge sharing.
- The opportunity to contribute to technology that supports safer, more sustainable, and productive operations across industries.
