What you’ll do:
Eaton is currently seeking a Specialist IT Business Analyst to join our Digital Manufacturing IT organization, supporting a global network of manufacturing sites. The Specialist IT Business Analyst plays a key role in deploying and scaling lightweight Manufacturing Execution System (MES Lite) solutions based on Ignition (SCADA/IIoT platform). The role combines business analysis with hands-on implementation, working closely with production, engineering, and IT teams to translate operational requirements into scalable, shop floor-oriented digital solutions.
Operating from a central IT function, the role acts as a consultant to manufacturing sites, guiding implementation approaches, supporting deployment execution, and ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and architectures. The analyst contributes to the development and rollout of standardized MES Lite templates, enabling fast and consistent deployment across multiple sites.
The role supports machine connectivity and system integration across shop floor environments, leveraging technologies such as Ignition, Kepware, OPC UA, and PLC interfaces. In addition, the analyst ensures that MES Lite solutions support broader data and digital manufacturing strategies, including integration with ERP, analytics platforms, and enterprise systems.
This position is instrumental in driving digital transformation by enabling data-driven decision-making, improving operational visibility, and supporting scalable MES Lite deployments across the enterprise.
Travel required for site deployments, workshops, and go-live activities across EMEA and global locations (estimated 20–50% depending on project phase).
Your main responsibilities:
- Gain a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and business requirements to ensure MES Lite solutions deliver measurable operational value
- Translate business needs into scalable MES Lite solutions using Ignition and related technologies
- Support implementation and deployment of MES Lite solutions across manufacturing sites
- Integrate shop floor equipment and systems using OPC UA, Kepware, PLC interfaces, and industrial protocols
- Configure and customize Ignition-based applications, dashboards, and data models
- Support rapid deployment cycles, including site rollouts, testing, and go-live activities
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in MES Lite applications within live production environments
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure clarity and completeness of requirements
- Collaborate with architecture and data teams to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and data strategy
- Contribute to development and standardization of MES Lite templates, reusable components, and best practices
- Contribute to definition and standardization of MES Lite architecture and deployment approach
- Support backlog refinement, user story definition, and prioritization in Agile delivery environments
- Validate implemented solutions and ensure alignment with business expectations and operational needs
- Analyze data models, system performance, and KPIs to support continuous improvement
- Support incident triage and coordinate resolution with site teams and technical teams
- Enable knowledge transfer and provide guidance to site teams to ensure sustainable local operations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in MES, Industrial IoT, or digital manufacturing environments
Skills:
- Experience working in manufacturing environments with exposure to shop floor systems and processes
- Experience supporting implementation or deployment of MES, SCADA, or IIoT solutions across multiple sites is highly desirable
- Experience with Ignition (Inductive Automation) or similar SCADA/IIoT platforms
- Strong understanding of shop floor integration, including PLC systems, OPC UA, and industrial communication protocols
- Experience with Kepware or similar connectivity tools
- Familiarity with MES concepts such as OEE, machine monitoring, and production tracking
- Understanding of integration between MES, ERP, and enterprise systems
- Basic knowledge of data modeling, dashboards, and analytics for manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and product backlog management
- Basic SQL knowledge is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
