PlainsCapital Bank is seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist to perform quality assurance reviews of lending activities, loan documentation, regulatory reporting data, and operational processes to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Reviews and validates information against source documentation, identifies exceptions or data discrepancies, recommends corrective action, supports issue resolution, and collaborates with business partners to promote accuracy, compliance, regulatory reporting integrity.

This role supports the Bank's HMDA, CRA, and Small Business/Small Farm (SBSF) reporting functions through data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance activities, requiring knowledge of applicable regulatory reporting requirements, CRA regulations, and HMDA reporting standards.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews consumer and commercial loan files, disclosures, documentation, data fields, and related records to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and quality standards.
  • Validates information against source documentation and identifies inaccuracies, missing information, exceptions, or quality concerns.
  • Monitors required disclosures and supporting documentation to ensure timely completion, execution, and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Reviews loan files, closing documentation, Closing Disclosures, and settlement statements for completeness, accuracy, and compliance prior to loan closing activities.
  • Documents findings and communicates required corrections or recommendations to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Assists in monitoring compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and departmental standards.
  • Maintains logs, records, archived files, reports, and supporting documentation related to quality assurance reviews.
  • Researches and resolves discrepancies through collaboration with lending partners, and operations staff.
  • Maintains current knowledge of applicable regulations, policies, procedures, and industry requirements.
  • Provides backup support for lending operational processes, closing checklist reviews, and related departmental functions as assigned.
  • Prepares reports and other documentation as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in loan operations, lending compliance, quality assurance, loan servicing, loan documentation, or a related banking function required.
  • Experience reviewing lending documentation, regulatory reporting data, or operational processes strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements applicable to assigned area.
  • Ability to interpret procedures, regulations, and documentation requirements.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent PC skills, including word processing and spreadsheets via Microsoft Office products as well as custom applications and systems.
