Position Summary

This is a support position which requires the ability to provide effective, proactive and innovative support to the Project Management and Field Operations teams. An Assistant Project Manager assists with project schedules, submittals, daily administrative tasks and many other responsibilities both in the office and in the field. It will require a high degree of common sense and logical thought processes as well as the ability to meet strict deadlines. Work hours, start and end times, including travel and overnight stays, will vary depending on project needs. Procon will cover certain travel expenses in accordance with our policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook. All employees are expected to adhere to policies and procedures outlined in the Procon Employee Handbook and Corporate Safety Manual and behave in a manner that aligns with Procon’s Values.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Project Management
  • Assist with contract review
  • Assist with COI and other insurance needs
  • Assist with project budget setup
  • Assist with creating and updating milestone schedule
  • Assist with creating and updating sequence plan
  • Assist with 3-4 week look ahead schedules
  • Assist with buyout and procurement process
  • Assist with creation, management and distribution of submittals
  • Assist with obtaining shop drawings
  • Ensure that most up to date drawings are filed in proper locations
  • Assist with processing RFIs
  • Assist with schedule management
  • Assist with budget execution
  • Assist with processing Extra Work Order claims
  • Assist with creation, management and distribution of claims and change orders
  • Assist with billing
  • Assist with creation and management of as-built drawings
  • Field Operations
  • Ensure that all site clerical work is completed. Assist site Superintendent with completion as required
  • Daily report
  • Pre-task or daily work plan
  • Safety plans/reports
  • Pre-pour checklist
  • Extra work orders
  • Generation of RFIs
  • Concrete/pour logs
  • Coding and tracking hours
  • Assist with ordering/procuring materials and equipment
  • Assist with on-site inventory control
  • Assist with safety monitoring and promotion
  • Assist with quality control management and execution
  • Attend project meetings as required
  • Create and maintain good working relationships with coworkers, customers, and suppliers
  • Review and contribute to field progress photos and ensure they are filed correctly
  • Assist with facilities upkeep
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • All other duties required by the President or your Supervisor
  • Follow all policies and procedures as set forth in the Employee Handbook and Corporate Safety Program

Qualifications, Competencies and skills:

  • A valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • One or more years of construction related experience or equivalent. Three or more years in commercial concrete construction preferred
  • Blue print reading skills required
  • Advanced computer skills are required
  • Experience in Procore is strongly preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word and Project, or their equivalent is preferred
  • Experience with Blue Beam preferred
  • Experience with Foundation preferred
  • The ability to speak, read and write fluently in English is required. The ability to also speak, read and write in Spanish is preferred
  • OSHA 10 required or will be provided on hire
