Project Manager – Construction

French & Parrello Associates (FPA) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our growing Construction Engineering Department in Newark, NJ. The successful candidate will have experience managing multiple construction projects and performing construction inspection for civil engineering projects. This individual will oversee project documentation, controls, schedules, and progress reporting.

This role offers the opportunity to lead construction projects in both office and field environments while serving as a primary point of coordination among clients, contractors, and project teams. The Project Manager will lead project meetings, monitor construction progress, and help ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contract requirements.

Construction Engineering & Project Experience

FPA’s Construction Engineering Department provides construction management and inspection services for transportation and civil engineering projects.

The Project Manager - Construction will oversee construction-phase activities while applying sound judgement to address project issues and maintain compliance with contract requirements. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills to keep multiple assignments progressing efficiently and support successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project documentation and controls, including pay estimates, submittals, shop drawings, RFI’s, and change orders.
  • Manage multiple transportation-related construction projects at once.
  • Review, track, and markup Construction Schedules.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Lead project meetings with clients, contractors, and project teams to review progress, address issues, and coordinate next steps.
  • Interface with clients and contractors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, and/or Construction/Engineering related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of New Jersey required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of construction related experience and 2 years of Project Management experience.
  • Experience performing construction inspection on Civil Engineering projects.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office preferred but not required.
  • Candidate should be motivated, organized, and willing to work in the office and field.

Compensation

The projected compensation range for this position is $110,000 to $150,000. Actual compensation will depend on factors including experience, education, qualifications, and skill set. FPA recognizes and rewards performance through an annual bonus program.
