Project Overview

Android development engagement for George, a banking platform. The work focuses on implementing new mobile features and extending or changing existing features through refactoring, with strong emphasis on maintainable code and high-quality user experience. The role includes assisting business analysts in specifying new features and collaborating closely with the design team.

Client Context

The client is a banking platform team operating in a dynamic Agile environment. The role is collaborative, involving business analysts for feature specification and a design team for user experience work. The candidate is expected to bring communication and leadership skills, openness to feedback, and awareness of industry trends and best practices.

Scope & Deliverables

  • Implement new features for the banking platform; extend and refactor existing features as needed.
  • Support feature specification with business analysts and work with design on user experience.
  • Complex UI screens with custom views and layouts built with Jetpack Compose.
  • Clean, maintainable Android code and robust testing coverage (unit, integration and UI tests).
  • Success indicators: high-quality mobile app delivery, adherence to clean code principles, effective use of Agile development and release practices.

Technical & Collaboration Setup

  • Android development with Kotlin – advanced concepts: coroutines, flows, suspend functions.
  • Jetpack Compose for complex UI screens.
  • Git Flow or similar branching strategies; TeamCity.
  • Dependency injection, build tooling, linting, refactoring practices, security concepts.
  • Testing strategy: unit, integration and UI tests.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of Android development experience in a dynamic Agile environment.
