What will I be doing?• Provide fiscal support to the Gulf Coast Workforce Board’s program and contracted operations
- Assist with the design of financial reporting systems and instruments for service providers to report expenditures
- Approve financial reports, verifying support documentation adequately meets billing, cost-sharing, and/or matching requirements effectively
- Provide updates to supervisory staff regarding current tasks and necessary action items
- Participate on strategy teams supporting grant applications, developing grant budgets while ensuring adherence to funding guidelines and stipulations
- Periodically prepare and update grant/service provider budgets, recommend fund transfers, and monitor expenditures
- Work closely with H-GAC’s Finance Department to maintain accurate financial records and troubleshoot problems
- Prepare and present information and financial reports to internal and external stakeholders
- Develop and present fiscal management trainings for Board and service provider staff.
- Assist in reviewing issues identified in financial monitoring reports and provide recommendations to resolve issues
- Assist with Purchasing/Procurement, Financial Monitoring, and Lease Management
- Support team members by gathering support documentation for agency audits
- Review contractor financial statements, cost allocation plans, and/or indirect cost plans
- Ensure all work is accurate, complete, and compliant with established procedures and federal guidelines
Key Qualifications • Knowledge in finance and governmental accounting principles
- Knowledge of Uniform Administrative Requirements and applicable federal, state, and local compliance regulations
- Experience with developing, modifying, and monitoring federal or state grant budgets
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 suite, specifically Excel
- Experience with accounting software, preferably MIP
- Experience with project management software, preferably Asana
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Service-oriented with a high degree of professionalism in dealing with diverse groups of people
- Communicates in a professional manner
- Ability to complete tasks independently
- Strong time management skills
Do you have… • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study
- 5 years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, schools, or in job-related duties
Salary range: $80,000.00 - $88,000.00
