About the Role
As an Analytics Engineer, you'll be at the heart of building intelligent, scalable platforms that power information retrieval, document analytics, and enterprise knowledge systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data engineering and analytics solutions that meet evolving business needs
- Build end-to-end applications and services for document analytics and information retrieval, ensuring performance and reliability
- Develop robust, cloud-native solutions leveraging modern engineering practices and cutting-edge technologies
- Contribute to solution architecture, driving continuous improvement and platform reliability across the stack
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into impactful technical solutions
- Apply Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD best practices throughout the full software development lifecycle to ensure quality and speed of delivery

You'll be joining Group Data Services (GDS) at Swiss Re — a forward-thinking team dedicated to building scalable data and AI solutions that power information retrieval, document analytics, and enterprise knowledge platforms. GDS operates at the forefront of data innovation, enabling smarter, faster, and more informed decisions across the organisation. We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
- Python expertise: hands-on software development experience with strong Python programming skills (Java experience is a plus)
- Scalable data application design: Proven experience designing and building scalable, data-intensive applications from the ground up
- Core data engineering technologies: Hands-on knowledge of SQL, Apache Spark, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines in production environments
- Agile development experience: Demonstrated experience working within Agile development teams, contributing to iterative delivery and continuous improvement
These are additional nice to haves:
- Experience with Palantir Foundry and its data integration and transformation capabilities
- Exposure to Large Language Models (LLMs), AI engineering, or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or equivalent
For Slovakia the base salary range for this position is between EUR 2,400 and EUR 4,100 per month (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
- the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
- the applicant’s own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
In addition to your base salary, Swiss Re offers an attractive performance-based variable compensation component, designed to recognise your achievements. Further you will enjoy a variety of global and location specific benefits.
