Full description

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Project Management Office team in Corporate Customers and Markets (CCM) at Fortum. The role is based in Solna, Sweden or in Espoo, Finland.

About the role

As a project manager at CCM, you will part a key part of the Project Management Office team whose responsibility is to lead large, strategically prioritized projects for our business unit. The projects you will lead span across the whole value chain of physical and financial trading and include developing new products and offerings as well as optimizing and improving core processes and systems.

Your responsibility is to lead projects end-to-end—ensuring delivery of agreed scope, timeline, budget, and quality—while applying Fortum’s project governance model and best practices. You will play an important role in securing alignment with business strategy, enabling transparency toward stakeholders, and driving value realization from development initiatives.

Main responsibilities: 

  • Lead planning, execution, and successful delivery of complex CCM projects from initiation to completion,
  • Establish and manage project governance, including steering structures, reporting, and stakeholder alignment
  • Define and manage scope, timeline, budget, risks, and dependencies across projects
  • Drive day-to-day project execution, including coordination of cross-functional teams and external partners
  • Ensure adherence to Fortum project models, methods, and guidelines, including gate processes and investment governance
  • Provide transparent reporting and proactively manage risks, issues, and roadblocks
  • Secure alignment between project objectives and CCM strategic priorities
  • Enable effective collaboration across business, IT, and development teams
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of project management practices and ways of working within CCM PMO

About you 

  • University degree in a relevant field
  • Several years of experience in project management, preferably in complex business or IT environments within the energy sector
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering complex projects end-to-end
  • Strong understanding of project governance, financial control, and structured delivery models
  • Ability to operate in both traditional and agile/hybrid project environments
  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate business needs into actionable plans
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and alignment across functions
  • Proactive, structured, and solution-oriented mindset with strong ownership of outcomes
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Energy industry experience, especially experience from physical or financial energy markets is a strong merit
  • Fluent English. Swedish or Finnish would be considered as an advantage
