Full description

Amazon Ads is the earth's most customer-centric advertising business — and the Brand Innovation Lab (BIL) is where its most ambitious creative bets come to life. BIL conceptualizes and executes bespoke advertising experiences across the full Amazon publisher landscape, turning brands' boldest ideas into award-winning campaigns that deliver measurable business results and reshape the perception of Amazon Ads globally.

As a Sr. Financial Analyst, you'll operate at the intersection of creativity and financial rigor — delivering the analysis, reporting, and financial models that shape how a world-class creative organization invests, scales, and measures success. You'll partner directly with creative, product, and tech teams, translating complex data into clear recommendations that accelerate decision-making. You'll build financial models that address difficult business questions, proactively dive deep into performance drivers, and take ownership of projects that improve how BIL operates.

If you are energized by working alongside teams that are redefining what advertising can be, this role is for you.

Key job responsibilities - Partner with cross-functional teams to support investment and resource allocation decisions through data-driven analysis - Drive financial planning and analysis including quarterly forecasting, annual planning, and monthly actuals and variance reporting for business revenue and operating expenses - Manage business performance metrics, helping to identify root causes behind variances, explain financial implications, and facilitate actions that drive operational improvement - Coordinate and facilitate weekly, monthly, and quarterly business review mechanisms, ensuring reporting accuracy and clear communication of results - Lead projects to automate, simplify, or scale finance processes, including leveraging AI-enabled tools to reduce defects and boost productivity - Build and maintain SOPs, process documentation, and team tools that facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration

A day in the life Your morning starts with reviewing financial performance, diving deep into a variance that surfaced overnight and preparing a clear explanation for your business partner. Mid-morning, you're pressure-testing assumptions in a financial model you built to support a resource allocation decision for a new initiative. After lunch, you join a cross-functional working session with creative and sales leads to walk them through a financial analysis, fielding questions and sharpening the recommendation. You close the day by improving an automated reporting workflow that saves your team hours of manual reconciliation each month.

About the team Our Finance team works closely with BIL and other Ads teams to analyze performance, validate financial results of investments and advertising business growth initiatives, and drive controllership across the organization

Basic Qualifications: - 3+ years of finance, accounting, or related analytical field experience - Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, tax, economics, or a related analytical field - 3+ years of experience in forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and interpreting financial results, or experience in financial modeling, P&L management or analysis - 3+ years of experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis

Preferred Qualifications: - 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience - MBA, or CPA - Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards) - Experience in online advertising, marketing, sales or digital media
