We’re looking for a Finance Analyst to join our Financial Accounting team, supporting the delivery of accurate financial reporting, balance sheet integrity, forecasting, and supplier rebate accounting. Key Responsibilities
As Finance Analyst, you’ll work closely with the Financial Accounting Manager and partner with teams across Commercial, Supply Chain, Marketing, Procurement, and Accounts Payable.
Your responsibilities will include:
Financial reporting & month-end
• Supporting the month-end close process
• Producing monthly management reporting and variance analysis
• Analysing actual performance against budget, forecast, and prior year
• Preparing commentary on key financial movements
• Assisting with balance sheet reviews and financial reporting activities
Inventory & provision accounting
• Calculating monthly provisions for aged returns and credits
• Maintaining excess and obsolete stock provisions
• Investigating inventory movements and accounting adjustments
• Supporting warehouse accounting and stock reconciliation activities
• Assisting with auction, disposal, and inventory-related financial analysis
Rebate accounting & supplier recoveries
• Preparing monthly rebate accruals and supplier recovery calculations
• Maintaining rebate schedules and supporting documentation
• Investigating rebate shortfalls and supplier discrepancies
• Reviewing supplier credits and ensuring accurate accounting treatment
• Partnering with procurement and operational teams to resolve issues
Forecasting & financial planning
• Supporting forecast and budget preparation
• Preparing financial models and analysis
• Assisting with risk and opportunity reporting
• Contributing to management presentations and planning activities
Financial control & continuous improvement
• Preparing balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting SOX and internal control compliance
• Investigating accounting anomalies
• Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting
• Supporting automation and finance transformation initiatives
Skills and Experience
We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting skills with commercial awareness and a proactive approach.
Essential
• Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, or ACA
• Experience in financial accounting, management accounting, or commercial finance
• Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and data analysis
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
Desirable
• Inventory accounting experience
• Rebate accounting experience
• SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics experience
• SOX controls and balance sheet reconciliation knowledge
• Power Query, Power BI, or other reporting tool experience
