Overview

Our client is seeking a Network Engineer to support a large enterprise network environment, focusing on LAN and Wi-Fi monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational support. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering long-term stability, excellent work-life balance, and the chance to support critical networking infrastructure within a large-scale enterprise environment.The ideal candidate will have experience supporting enterprise LAN and wireless networks, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional support teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve LAN and Wi-Fi connectivity issues involving switches, routers, access points, and cabling.
  • Provide Tier 2 support for network incidents and service requests escalated from Tier 1 teams.
  • Monitor and support enterprise LAN and wireless infrastructure.
  • Manage and resolve support tickets using ServiceNow or a similar ticketing platform.
  • Document troubleshooting efforts, root causes, and resolutions.
  • Assist Tier 1 support teams with network diagnostics and issue resolution.
  • Escalate and collaborate with Tier 3 Network Engineers on complex incidents.
  • Support ongoing network maintenance and operational activities.
  • Manage multiple priorities while meeting service-level expectations and deadlines.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by management in support of organizational objectives.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Four additional years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • If degree is not in a related field, four additional years of applicable experience are required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on network support or engineering experience.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of LAN technologies and protocols, including:• TCP/IP
  • VLANs
  • Spanning Tree Protocol (STP)
  • Experience troubleshooting Layer 1 and Layer 2 network issues.
  • Understanding of LAN security standards and best practices.
  • Experience supporting enterprise networking and wireless solutions such as:• Cisco Meraki
  • HPE Aruba
  • Juniper Mist
  • Fortinet
  • Experience using ServiceNow or similar ticket management systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Microsoft Teams.

Clearance Requirements

Candidates must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust Clearance and must meet the following requirements:

  • Must have lived in the United States continuously for the last five years.
  • Cannot have traveled outside the U.S. for a combined total of six months or more during the last five years.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $31.00 - $31.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
