Who We Are

Stormentum builds power infrastructure for AI data centers, EV charging, and microgrids. Our patented, modular power electronics architecture merges UPS, battery, and rectifier stages into one platform, from grid to GPU, with fewer conversion stages and more compute from every megawatt. Founded by executives with decades of leadership across technology, wireless, and energy, we’re bringing together world-class engineering talent to rethink how power is delivered.

About the Role

At Stormentum you will be the product owner for our power electronics hardware, reporting to our SVP of Product and sitting at the intersection of engineering, customers, and the market. You will translate what our controls, firmware, and hardware teams are building into products that data center operators, OEMs, and microgrid partners want to deploy. You will own the path from product definition through go-to-market launch.

Your first major launch will be our in-rack power electronics solution, a power tray designed for the server rack. You will take it from preproduction and testing through supply chain readiness and commercial launch by the end of 2027. Along the way, you will be the voice of the customer inside Stormentum: bringing industry input into the product, helping engineering make the right tradeoffs, and making the case for our technology in the market.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role based onsite in Austin, TX, for someone who wants to be in the details: writing PRDs, sitting in design reviews, and engaging directly with customers and partners.

Who You Are

  • An engineer at heart. You started in the technical world, earned your credibility there, and built the commercial instincts to turn customer and market needs into clear product requirements.
  • A launcher. You have taken a hardware product from front-end ideation all the way through launch, and you know what it takes to get a complex technical product out the door.
  • A builder. You are energized by the absence of a playbook. You do not wait for structure; you create it.
  • Customer-obsessed. You go to the source: operators, OEMs, integrators, and the engineers who will deploy and depend on our hardware. You make sure what you learn shapes what we build.
  • The glue. You have worked shoulder-to-shoulder with engineering and commercial teams, and you earn trust through competence and candor. You are equally comfortable in a design review and a customer conversation.
  • Commercially fluent. You understand how engineering decisions translate into cost, customer value, and a business model, and you can make the case for how a product makes money.
  • Hungry and hands-on. You bring urgency, energy, and an appetite for ownership, and you would rather be in the weeds of the product than managing a team.

What You’ll Do

  • Own product strategy and roadmap for Stormentum’s power electronics hardware, translating customer, partner, and market needs into actionable direction for our controls, firmware, and hardware engineering teams
  • Write and own PRDs and hardware product requirements tied to customer outcomes, certification milestones, and market deadlines
  • Lead the go-to-market launch of our in-rack power electronics solution, from preproduction and testing through supply chain readiness and commercial launch
  • Define who we are building for and how we make money, including target customers, use cases, cost models, pricing, and business model
  • Serve as Stormentum’s voice of the customer, building relationships with data center operators, hyperscalers, OEMs, GPU and compute suppliers, and microgrid partners, and bringing their input back into the product
  • Gather and leverage competitive intelligence, translating findings into actionable recommendations for product and engineering
  • Drive positioning, messaging, and value proposition, partnering with external marketing resources on collateral, web content, and sales enablement as the company builds out its marketing function
  • Partner with our business analytics function on market sizing, customer research, and product performance analysis
  • Extend the product roadmap into microgrid and adjacent applications as the platform scales
  • Define and track the metrics that matter, from customer engagement and pipeline to launch readiness and adoption
  • Help shape how the product function grows with the company as Stormentum scales

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field); an MBA or technical master’s is a plus but not required. We care most about what you have built and launched
  • 5+ years of hardware product management experience, owning a product family or category within a complex technical product portfolio
  • Proven track record taking at least one hardware product from front-end ideation through launch
  • Product experience in power electronics, power supplies, or powered electronic hardware; we are open to backgrounds across industrial, commercial, and consumer electronics
  • Hardware-centric product background with working exposure to firmware and software
  • Experience writing PRDs and translating customer needs into engineering requirements
  • Experience building product strategy, GTM plans, and launch programs
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with demonstrated ability to work closely with engineering, operations, and commercial teams
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, resource-constrained environment

What Will Make You Stand Out

  • Experience with data center power infrastructure such as rack power, power shelves, PSUs, or high-voltage DC distribution
  • Existing relationships across the data center ecosystem, including hyperscalers, OEMs, GPU and compute suppliers, or rack and power integrators
  • Product experience in microgrids, EV charging, or energy storage
  • Startup or early-stage experience, including launching a company’s first product
  • Power electronics or hardware design background, bringing technical depth alongside commercial instincts

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package including base salary and equity. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), flexible time off, and paid holidays.
