About the Role

This is a senior individual contributor role on a small, product-focused mobile engineering team at a consumer fintech company. You'll take meaningful ownership of the core Android application, working closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to ship experiences that directly improve users' financial lives.

What You'll Do

  • Design, implement, and maintain the primary consumer-facing Android application.
  • Contribute to platform-level architecture and infrastructure to support the app at scale.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and business teams to shape product direction and solve problems pragmatically.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers on the Android team.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of professional experience building and shipping production Android applications.
  • Strong Kotlin expertise with hands-on experience using Jetpack Compose and modern app architecture patterns (MVVM or Clean Architecture).
  • Experience building consumer-facing mobile apps (not exclusively B2B).
  • Proficiency with backend data formats and APIs common in mobile development, including protobufs, REST, and gRPC.
  • Experience integrating Firebase services (Authentication, Firestore/Realtime Database, Cloud Messaging).
  • Solid understanding of Android testing strategies — unit, instrumentation, and UI tests — and experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines for mobile.
  • Demonstrated mentorship or technical leadership experience guiding junior engineers.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills across product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with platform-level Android development and architecture is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $160,000 – $200,000 USD annually
