Graphic Designer, Visual Merchandising

Tarte is looking for a talented Associate Graphic Designer with strong print design and production experience to join our Visual Merchandising team. Our team creates disruptive, easy-to-shop in-store graphics that balance strong brand storytelling with functionality in retail spaces.

This is a print-focused role working across permanent and promotional fixtures, seasonal updates, windows, and pop-ups. You'll be involved in the entire process from concept development to final print production, partnering closely with Trade Marketing, Project Managers, and cross-functional teams.

What You’ll Do

  • Create easy-to-shop graphics for seasonal gondola updates and permanent fixtures across multiple retailers.
  • Develop artwork for promotional spaces including endcaps, tables, towers, windows, pop-ups, and in-store animations.
  • Contribute to concepting and brainstorming for seasonal programs, offering creative ideas and visual solutions.
  • Prepare accurate, print-ready production files, ensuring artwork meets retailer-specific specifications, dielines, color requirements, and production standards.
  • Collaborate with Trade Marketing to bring campaigns to life while maintaining brand consistency across retailers and regions.
  • Adapt and roll out artwork for international markets, including adjustments for language, currency, and regional preferences (translations provided).
  • Manage multiple projects per season, partnering with Project Managers to ensure accuracy, organization, and on-time delivery.
  • Oversee artwork revisions, routing updates, and final production checks to ensure files are accurate and ready for release.
  • Stay current on design trends while maintaining a strong understanding of the beauty industry.
  • Support team initiatives by sharing resources, best practices, and assisting other designers during peak periods.

What We’re Looking For

  • BFA/BA in Graphic Design or a related field.
  • 2-3+ years of graphic design experience, with a strong background in print design and production, preferably within retail, visual merchandising, packaging, or a similar environment.
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Hands-on experience preparing print-ready mechanical files, including working with dielines, bleeds, color modes (CMYK/Pantone), image resolution, and production specifications.
  • Understanding of large-format printing, materials, and production processes for physical retail displays.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • A collaborative, proactive, and adaptable team player with a positive attitude.

Our Perks

  • Salary range: $66,500-75,000 (Compensation will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill level, relevant work experience & education)
  • Medical, dental, vision, 401K plan & access to health & wellness programs
  • Paid vacation, holidays, summer Fridays, birthdays off, volunteer time & more
  • Makeup gratis, employee discount on tarte.com, team give back initiatives
  • Friendly, fun, creative & collaborative work environment
