Full description

The Senior Workday Business Analyst supports Workday HCM modules by translating business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, process designs, test plans, and production support recommendations. This position will serve as a strategic partner between Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, business stakeholders, and technology teams to deliver enhancements and drive continuous improvement.  This role is responsible for understanding the full end-to-end processes and delivering scalable Workday solutions that improve efficiency, data quality, compliance, and employee experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to gather, analyze, document, and validate Workday-related business requirements
  • Lead requirements sessions, process reviews, and discovery workshops with HR, Payroll, Compensation, Benefits, Talent, Finance, and IT partners
  • Translate business needs into clear functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and testable requirements
  • Analyze current-state processes, identify gaps, recommend improvements, and support future-state design aligned with Workday capabilities and business objectives
  • Partner with configuration, integration, reporting, and security teams to ensure Workday solutions are scalable, secure, compliant, and operationally effective
  • Support Workday enhancements, releases, upgrades, regression testing, production support, and defect resolution across assigned functional areas
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including business requirements, functional design documents, test scripts and support procedures
  • Coordinate and support system testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing, issue triage, and business readiness activities
  • Monitor integration health, data trends, and user feedback to recommend support improvements
  • Maintain strong knowledge of Workday functionality, release updates, business process framework, reporting, security concepts, and HR technology best practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Human Resources or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered
  • 5+ years of business analyst, HRIS analyst, business systems analyst, or similar experience supporting enterprise applications
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Workday HCM and related modules
  • Strong understanding of HR, Payroll, Compensation, Benefits, Talent, Absence, Time Tracking, or related business processes
  • Experience gathering requirements, documenting functional specifications, writing user stories, and supporting Agile or hybrid delivery methodologies
  • Experience supporting Workday testing activities, including test planning, scenario development, defect tracking, regression testing, and user acceptance testing
  • Ability to analyze complex business problems, evaluate options, and recommend practical solutions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate between business and technical audiences
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders, influence outcomes, and drive accountability without direct authority
  • Experience partnering with engineers to support Workday integration requirements and full end-to-end testing
  • Experience in a large, complex, multi-function organization with cross-functional HR and IT delivery teams
  • Workday certification or formal Workday training in one or more modules is a plus
