Overview

As a Product Systems Security Engineer at Lutron, you will contribute to high-stakes projects from the start. Your efforts will help to maintain our market position as the world leader in smart lighting and shading systems.

As an integral member of our team, your skills and passion for cybersecurity will be nurtured through on-the-job training, supervision by industry experts, and attending workshops. As you progress, you may explore opportunities to hone your technical expertise or transition into engineering management. Additionally, you may explore other diverse opportunities in key areas of the business including product management, manufacturing, quality, operations, and more.

Product Systems Security Engineers at Lutron participate within a cross-functional team to conceptualize, design, and develop innovative, high-quality consumer products and services for commercial and residential use. Additionally, a Product Systems Security Engineer looks at the cybersecurity practices and direction itself, improving the team from the inside.

There are a variety of technical areas throughout the product lifecycle that you could encounter from day one, such as:

  • DevSecOps, secure design lifecycle
  • Security incident response
  • Security architecture, design, and testing
  • Certificate chains
  • Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM)
  • Security governance, including policies and procedures
  • Securing Artificial Intelligence

Responsibilities

  • Help design, test, and validate the cybersecurity of Lutron products, systems, and processes
  • Communicate customer and compliance security requirements to developers, team leaders, and executives
  • Collaborate with teams in other disciplines such as software development, sales, legal, and operations
  • Build security into scalable lighting control systems used across all types of residential and commercial applications
  • Be part of a dedicated team of security professionals responsible for the security initiatives of the entire Lutron organization
  • Learn and become proficient in a wide variety of technologies such as IoT Devices, AWS Cloud, Azure Cloud, BurpSuite, Amp, and Vigiles

Qualifications

  • PhD degree in Cybersecurity, or in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Assurance, Information Systems, or Information Security
  • Minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.00 for each degree earned
  • Willingness to travel 10-15% of the time for inter-office collaboration, site visits, etc.
  • You are authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require Lutron to sponsor you for any work visa, such as an H-1B, either immediately or at any time in the future. Lutron does not offer work visa sponsorship for this position
  • Willing and available to work on-site 5 days per week
