Sr Product Manager Specialist II – GDM Tools
Location: Poland (Gdansk) - Hybrid
This position is part of the Global Data Organization’s GDM Tools portfolio, which builds the internal automation and applied-AI tooling — maintenance automation, source ingest and traceability, and human-in-the-loop verification — that the aeronautical data production organization runs on. This position drives the GDM Tools roadmap, prioritizes automation initiatives against production-hour and cost-savings targets, and partners with Engineering and data production teams to ship tools that meet FAA data-quality and traceability requirements.
Position Responsibilities:
- Owns the roadmap for GDM Tools’ automation and applied-AI capabilities.
- Communicates tooling and automation requirements to data production and engineering teams in order to efficiently collaborate and coordinate the workflow and system changes needed to meet roadmap targets.
- Documents end-to-end business requirements and understands the data and workflow needs of GDM’s aeronautical data production pipeline, from source ingest through verification and publication.
- Owns the feasibility interface and support between data production operations and product portfolio management.
- Understands the roadmaps of the data production and QA teams whose work GDM Tools automates, and sequences releases against their needs.
- Defines integration and configuration requirements for automation and applied-AI tools across the production pipeline.
- Documents tool architecture and describes the business process each capability changes or replaces.
- Participates in data governance decisions, including how AI-assisted and automated outputs are reviewed, recorded, and audited.
- Provides inputs on GDM Tools’ cost-savings targets, staffing plans, product plans, roadmaps, and release plans, and tracks progress against them (e.g., analyst hours automated, verification hours credited).
- Develops new GDM Tools concepts, which may result in eventual launch, as well as vision documents used to initiate technology development efforts — including flagging where new capabilities may require DO-200B/DO-330 review before broad rollout.
- Manages all aspects of the GDM Tools Lifecycle Management process including development and presentation of business cases.
- Serves as the single point of contact for all ongoing GDM Tools product decisions, ensuring implementation of the decisions, consistency in communication, and effective stakeholder communication strategies.
- Collaborates closely with Engineering, data production, QA, and data governance to drive tooling and automation decisions.
- Defines human-in-the-loop review and exception-handling workflows for AI-assisted verification, decision recording, and pilots (e.g., NOTAM/email automation).
- Tracks and reports the hours-automated and cost-savings outcomes GDM Tools is staffed to deliver, and flags at-risk targets early.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 6+ yrs experience in product development/management, program management and/or financial analysis.
- 2-3 years experience with workflow automation, internal tooling, or applied AI/ML product management.
- 3+ years experience partnering with engineering and QA teams to ship internal tools or platform capabilities
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, specifically with software engineering, data production, and QA teams.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience; MBA preferred. Experience with applied AI/ML systems, aeronautical data standards (e.g., AIXM, ARINC), or regulated/certified software environments is a plus.
- Familiarity with DO-200B (aeronautical data process standards) and awareness of DO-330 tool qualification considerations for automated/AI-assisted tooling.
Typical Education & Experience:
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+2 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).
