About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer (Electrical Specialist) to join our growing infrastructure team in Portugal. In this role, you will be the custodian of our critical power architecture, designing and detailing complex multi-line diagrams and General Arrangement (GA) layouts. You will directly enable the high-density power delivery and 2N/N+1 redundancy frameworks required to sustain our mission-critical data center operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schematic & Multi-Line Design: Develop, modify, and review detailed multi-line diagrams, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and wiring schematics for Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) distribution networks.
  • Spatial Physical Planning (GA): Produce highly accurate General Arrangement (GA) drawings and 3D equipment panel layouts for electrical rooms, battery rooms (UPS), and generator yards, ensuring strict maintenance access and clearance compliance.
  • Control Logic & Redundancy Integration: Map out control schematics and interlocking logic for Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), power distribution units (PDUs), and protection relay systems.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Coordination: Collaborate with structural, mechanical (HVAC/Cooling), and civil teams to route heavy overhead cable containment systems and busways without interference.
  • Compliance Sign-Off: Review blueprints against data center tier availability standards (Uptime Institute Tier III/IV) and European electrical safety codes (EN 50600).

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electrotechnical Engineering.
  • Professional Registry: Active registration with the Ordem dos Engenheiros (OE) or Ordem dos Engenheiros Técnicos (OET) is highly preferred to sign off on technical documentation.
  • Software Mastery: Advanced proficiency in EPLAN Pro Panel or AutoCAD Electrical is mandatory. Experience with BIM/Revit is a strong plus.
  • Industry Experience: 3+ years of experience designing critical infrastructure power systems (Data Centers, heavy industrial power generation, or high-voltage substations).
  • Languages: Full professional proficiency in English (working language). Knowledge of Portuguese is an asset but not mandatory.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary benchmarked for the Portuguese data center premium space.
  • Comprehensive health insurance package.
  • Flexible/hybrid work options (role-dependent).
  • Clear career progression paths within an expanding, high-growth global industry.
  • Assistance with relocation or tax framework optimization (e.g., Programa Regressar) if applicable.
