As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and delivering modern analytics solutions. Together with our clients, you will develop scalable data models and analytics architectures that provide the foundation for reporting, self-service analytics and data-driven decision-making.• You design, develop and take ownership of analytical data models on modern data warehouses and lakehouse platforms, ensuring high quality, performance and long-term maintainability.
- You build robust data transformation pipelines using dbt and establish best practices for testing, documentation, version control and deployment.
- You design scalable analytical data models based on established modelling approaches such as Kimball, Snowflake Schema and Data Vault 2.0, integrating diverse data sources into a consistent analytics landscape.
- You establish and drive best practices for Data Quality, Data Testing, Data Lineage and Data Governance, contributing to the development of modern analytics standards.
- You optimise data models and query performance on modern cloud data platforms, leveraging lakehouse architectures and technologies such as Delta Lake and Apache Iceberg.
- You collaborate closely with business stakeholders, Data Analysts, Data Scientists and Data Engineers, translating complex business requirements into scalable analytics solutions.
- You take technical ownership of workstreams or project modules, ensuring successful delivery while acting as a technical mentor and sparring partner for your colleagues.
- Through your strong communication and consulting skills, you advise clients as a trusted partner, facilitate workshops and present technical solutions in a clear and business-oriented way.
Who you are
- You have several years of hands-on experience in Analytics Engineering and data modelling on modern cloud data platforms. You know how to translate business requirements into sustainable analytical data models that create measurable value for our clients.
- You have extensive experience working with dbt (dbt Core and/or dbt Cloud) and have successfully designed, implemented and further developed analytics engineering solutions across multiple client projects.
- You have a strong command of dimensional data modelling (Kimball Star Schema, Snowflake Schema) and solid experience designing and implementing modern ELT and data transformation architectures.
- You have excellent SQL skills and are comfortable using Python for automation, data analysis and the development of data-driven solutions where appropriate.
- You have practical experience with modern cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery or Amazon Redshift and are familiar with modern lakehouse architectures and table formats such as Delta Lake and Apache Iceberg.
- You understand Data Quality, Data Testing, Data Lineage and Data Governance as essential components of professional analytics solutions. Experience with Great Expectations, data catalogues or similar tools is an advantage.
- Experience with Data Vault 2.0 as well as Semantic Layers or modern BI architectures is considered a plus.
- You take ownership of technical solution designs, advise clients as a trusted technical partner and support your colleagues as a mentor and technical sparring partner.
- You are able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and business stakeholders in German (C1) and English.
- You are willing to travel occasionally to client sites.
