Full description
If you are an early-career or developing Technical Sales Engineer looking to build your sales career in the electrical industry, Emerson offers an exciting opportunity in South-West France. In this field-based role, you will support the Klauke portfolio, helping customers through a combination of technical knowledge, customer relationships, and commercial support.
This opportunity is particularly well suited to candidates coming from the electrical connection, cable manufacturing, electrical accessories, EV charging infrastructure, electrical distribution, or industrial equipment sectors who are ready to take ownership of a sales territory and continue developing their commercial skills.
Reporting to the France Sales Management team, you will inherit a well-established territory with an existing portfolio of loyal customers and long-standing business relationships. This is not a greenfield opportunity; it is a chance to build on a strong foundation while driving continued growth and market development. The position is home-based and requires daily travel throughout South-West France, with occasional overnight stays.
As part of Emerson's Professional Tools business, you will represent industry-leading brands known for innovation, quality, and reliability. The Klauke portfolio includes electrical connection technology, crimping tools, cutting tools, and solutions for electrical installers, panel builders, utilities, and industrial applications.
To be effective in this role, candidates should already be based in South-West France, ideally in the area south of the Marseille - La Rochelle / Bordeaux line, as daily travel within the territory is required.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Manage, develop, and grow sales of the Klauke product portfolio across South-West France.
- Build and strengthen relationships with distributors, electrical contractors, network and public-works companies, utilities, and industrial end users.
- Understand customer applications, operational challenges, and technical requirements to recommend the most appropriate solutions.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities while expanding an established customer base.
- Conduct customer visits, product demonstrations, technical presentations, and training sessions.
- Prepare quotations, commercial proposals, and solution recommendations tailored to customer needs.
- Negotiate commercial agreements in line with company guidelines and business objectives.
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver a seamless customer experience throughout the sales cycle.
- Support customers from opportunity development through post-sales follow-up and relationship management.
- Monitor market trends, customer developments, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities.
- Maintain accurate forecasts, activity reports, and customer information within company systems.
Who You Are
You enjoy building customer relationships and are motivated by solving practical customer challenges. You are organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently across a large territory. You have already gained some exposure to technical sales or customer-facing technical roles and are looking for an opportunity where you can continue to develop your commercial and technical expertise within a supportive team environment.
For This Role, You Will Need:
- Initial experience in B2B sales, technical sales, inside sales, application support, customer-facing engineering, or a related commercial role.
- Ability to understand technical products and discuss customer applications and requirements.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A structured and organized approach to managing activities across a large territory.
- Interest in electrical products, cable accessories, connection technologies, tools, EV charging solutions, or similar industrial markets.
- Working proficiency in French and sufficient English for product training, reporting, and collaboration within a global organization.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly throughout South-West France.
- Ability to work independently in a home-based role.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- Approximately 2-5 years of experience in technical sales or a customer-facing role.
- Experience within cable manufacturing, electrical connectors, electrical equipment, EV charging infrastructure, electrical distribution, industrial tools, utilities, or related technical industries.
- Exposure to distributor networks, installers, contractors, or industrial customers.
- Experience supporting product demonstrations, customer presentations, or technical discussions.
- Technical education or background in electrical engineering, industrial technologies, or a related field.
- Familiarity with CRM tools and sales planning processes.
At Emerson, we recognize that skills and potential can be developed through a variety of experiences. If your background does not align perfectly with every qualification listed, we encourage you to apply. We value learning agility, curiosity, customer focus, and the ability to grow in the role.
