Job Summary

This position is responsible for acting as sponsor for the health of the plant systems/components. Facilitate the effective engagement of assigned Plant Support Engineers to optimize performance of the team's systems in support of maximized station efficiency.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage activities associated with System Health Teams.
  • Represent Plant Support Engineering on outage management teams.
  • Direct monitoring of plant systems to optimize system performance.
  • Develop action plans and manage completion of activities required to resolve plant performance issues.
  • Facilitate staffing activities and staff development.
  • Direct the activities of the individual contributors within the group and coordinate station level responses across work groups.
  • Conduct performance reviews, salary actions, and monitor individual contributor and direct reports performance.
  • Coordinate and plan large work-scope projects and task teams.
  • Prioritize and approve group activities and work products.
  • Allocate personnel and budget to complete engineering activities and meet department/site goals.
  • Lead the station in troubleshooting, problem solving, and decision making
  • Assist fleet counterparts in executing corrective actions and technical challenges

Education, Experience & Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) / related Science degree or equivalent work experience
  • Detailed knowledge of power plant systems, specifically pumps, motors, and their auxiliary systems, including engineering principles associated with plant design and operation
  • Extensive knowledge of Codes, standards, plant specific procedures and regulatory requirements governing the design and operation of nuclear power plants
  • Knowledge of planning, scheduling and cost analysis
  • Professional Engineering registration desired
  • Strong overall business acumen
