Full description

We currently have a vacancy for a Database Administrator in English, to offer his/her services as an expert remotely (within EU). In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team.

Tasks:

  • Database installation, configuration and administration;
  • Database monitoring and tuning;
  • Application installation, configuration and management;
  • Responsible for providing technical support for the database environment including overseeing the development and organization of the databases; monitoring of application usage and performance;
  • Access management;
  • Database / application incident management;
  • Coordination of database and application support
  • University degree in IT combined with relevant IT professional experience of at least 10 years;
  • Minimum 6 years in modelling tools (e.g. UML);
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with RDBMS;
  • Experience in database design and model (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MsSQL);
  • Experience in Database Administration, Tuning, Management and Security;
  • Excellent knowledge of application development environments;
  • Experience in database backup and restore strategy using full database backup/restore and transaction log backup/restore;
  • Experience in active/active and active/passive clustering;
  • Experience with high-availability strategies (includes log shipping, DB mirroring, replication and SRDF) and experience in Disaster Recovery tests;
  • Experience in database monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, maintenance and auditing configuration;
  • Good knowledge of the design and development of web and multi-tiers Internet applications;
  • Experience in writing technical documentation;
  • Understanding of Active Directory in the context of database security and windows scripting is preferred;
  • Certification in Postgres will be an asset;
  • Excellent command of the English language.
